However, it has been pushed back to December 14th due to COVID 19 restrictions. The Western Dakota Association (WDA) is full of talented teams and players. It will be a fun exciting year. Expect a great year of hoops in the West.
Alphabetically, here are our players to watch in the WDA:
Alex Dvorak Alex Dvorak 6'1" | PG Dickinson | 2023 State ND (2023) |5-11 G| Dickinson – Hard-working player that loves the game. He has grown his skill set and has become a scary threat as a scorer. Alex has a quick first step that allows him to make plays in the paint. Look for him to be an All-Conference player.
Carson Lamp Carson Lamp 6'0" | SG Jamestown | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-1 G| Jamestown – One of the elite guards in the entire state of North Dakota. Carson is an all-around player that gets it done on both ends of the court. He is a lockdown defender. He can score from all over and distribute the rock for easy buckets. Look for him to lead his team towards a State Championship.
Deonte Martinez Deonte Martinez 5'10" | PG Minot | 2021 State ND (2021) |5-11 G| Minot – Floor general who will run the show for his squad. Deonte is one of the top perimeter defenders in the state. He is a creator that makes the game easier for others around him. He is an opportunistic scorer that can blow by defenders. Look for him to lead his team to the state tournament and earn many postseason accolades.
Gunner Swanson Gunner Swanson 6'5" | SF Bismarck | 2021 State ND (2021) ||6-5 F| Bismarck – Versatile player that can defend all over the court. He can score, rebound, and defend. Gunner can stretch the floor and cash in from 3-point land. He is athletic enough to get two feet in the paint and make things happen for his teammates. Look for him to be an All-State player.
Jayce Lowman Jayce Lowman 6'3" | SG Mandan | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-3 G| Mandan – Leader who scores from the arc and around the rim. Jayce is a player that will hit from deep and score in traffic. He can lock up on D and fill it up on O. Look for him to be an All-State player.
Ryan Erickson (2023) |6-8 F| Bismarck Century – Flexible player that can go inside and outside. He is a smart baller that does the little things right. Ryan is a skilled passer out of the post. He can step out to hit the 3 and back players down into the post for buckets. Look for him to be one of the top underclassmen in the WDA.
Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismark | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-5 F| Bismarck – He can score from all over the floor. Treysen has a nice step-back game. He keeps defenders off balance. Pulling up when free of defenders is not a problem with his silky-smooth jumper. Look for him to be an All-State player.
Tristin Davis Tristin Davis 6'2" | PG Turtle Mountain | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-2 G| Turtle Mountain – Great leader on the court. He is a competitor that does what it takes to win. Tristin is an excellent defender that will slow down the other guards in the conference. He can score in a variety of ways. Look for him to be one of the top guards in the state.
Wyatt Enno Wyatt Enno 6'2" | SF Turtle Mountain | 2021 State ND (2021) |6-3 G| Turtle Mountain – Hard-working player that is ultra-competitive. He does the little things to help his team win. Wyatt is a coach on the floor. He is a crafty and skilled guard. Look for him to be one of the top two-way players in the West.
Zander Albers Zander Albers 6'5" | PF Bismarck Legacy | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-5 F| Bismarck Legacy – A long athletic player that creates problems on both ends of the floor. Zander will be a great rebounder this season. He will give other bigs in the conference match-up problems. He can score from all over the floor. He is a versatile player on offense. Look for him to be one of the top underclass players in the West.
