In anticipation of this, we will be rolling out preview content over the next several weeks. Here is a look at the Preseason All-Senior Teams for Maryland Public Schools.
First Team
G – Ryan Conway Ryan Conway 6'0" | PG Dulaney | 2021 State #111 Nation MD
When curating this list, Conway was one of the first names that emerged. His resume speaks for itself.
G – Nick Marshall Nick Marshall 6'4" | CG River Hill | 2021 State MD
Marshall has blossomed into a top player in Howard County. He had a solid junior year, but given his expected uptick in usage, he should be in for an even better senior year.
F – Barry Evans Barry Evans 6'7" | SF Poly | 2021 State MD
Evans is a significant addition to Poly’s roster as they look to continue their dominance in 3A. The former Oakland Mills star should be a fine addition to the team because of his versatility.
F – Bobby Hill Bobby Hill 6'5" | PF Reservoir | 2021 State MD
Hill was another quickly determined first-team lock. He has never looked better.
F – Abdou Samb Abdou Samb 6'8" | C Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD
Samb has been a tremendous anchor at Douglass for a while now. Expect the future Rhody Ram to close out his high school career in style.
Second Team
G – Kordell Lewis Kordell Lewis 5'10" | PG Richard Montgomery | 2021 State MD
Lewis will be entering his fourth year as the starting varsity point guard at Richard Montgomery and has won a lot of games in that span. He should continue to be an effective leader for a competitive Rockets squad moving forward.
G – Trae English Trae English 5'11" | PG Baltimore Poly | 2021 State MD
English will finally be unleashed after playing next to and behind Rahim Ali Rahim Ali 5'11" | PG Baltimore Poly | 2020 State MD at Poly for the past 3 years. He’s looked quite good this summer and should be able to deliver the goods.
F – Mike Woods Mike Woods 6'4" | SF Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD
Woods burst onto the scene last year and gave Douglass an added dimension that made them a tough out most nights. The Navy commit, who was one of the area’s top stock risers this summer, should be able to build off the momentum he has created.
F – Jake Koverman Jake Koverman 6'5" | SF Southern | 2021 State MD
Koverman is back to playing at a high level after being forced to miss a significant amount of time due to injury. He slots into the second team as we expect him to be a consistent producer moving forward.
F – Thomas Whitley Thomas Whitley 6'6" | PF Eleanor Roosevelt | 2021 State MD
Whitley will likely be asked to embrace a bigger role in his senior year at Roosevelt. He’s been waiting in the wings for a while now and is in line for a breakout.
Third Team
G – Stalin Oaks Stalin Oaks 5'9" | PG La Plata | 2021 State MD
Oaks quietly put together a splendid campaign during his junior year at La Plata. The shifty lead guard should continue to excel in the SMAC.
G – Darrius Tilghman Darrius Tilghman 6'3" | PG Parkville | 2021 State MD
While Tilghman isn’t going to pour in 30 points a night, he finds many ways to impact the game and has done so on numerous occasions at Parkville. The Chestnut Hill commit seems like a worthy selection for the third team when you consider this.
F – O’Meech Wilson O’Meech Wilson 6'5" | PF North County | 2021 State MD
Wilson is a hidden gem from North County who is an imposing paint presence. He is in consideration as a top rim protector in the state and should not be overlooked.
F – Jamai Felt Jamai Felt 6'8" | C Randallstown | 2021 State MD
Felt is an intriguing front-court prospect who made a name for himself this summer. Randallstown’s man in the middle will definitely be a name to watch this season.
F – Tyson Brooks Jr.
Brooks is a physical marvel with natural shot-blocking ability. The standout from Arundel is probably not a particularly well-known name at the moment but might be on his way to changing that.
