| Tyree Graves | Shooting Guard | Fort Worth Dunbar | 2023 |
Tyree Graves came into the game off of the bench and immediately made a difference on the floor. The moment Graves stepped onto the court his defensive presence slowed North Crowley down. He showed good awareness, the ability to react to things quickly, cause turnovers, and force bad shots. Tyree played very impressive help side and recovery defense, getting blocks and interrupting passes by using his length. Tyree Graves is a noteworthy name, he has the size and basketball IQ to become a high-level high school prospect.
| Andrew Pattison | Shooting Guard | The Covenant School | 2023 |
Pattison came out of the gate ready to make an impact on the game. This lefty scored the first 2 baskets for The Covenant and knocked down his first 4 shots, one coming from 3-point range. Andrew Pattison played extremely aggressive early on, on both ends of the court, getting multiple on-ball steals and attacking the basket whenever he had the ball in his hands. He picked up 4 steals in the first quarter and had so many after that I eventually lost count. This pesky defender showed quick hands and a good defensive stance each time up the court. His knack for pressuring and harassing other guards caused a loss of dribble, bad passes, and several turnovers. Pattison played with a true killer instinct, he was a major reason Fort Worth Temple was held to only 10 points in the first-half. Offensively, Andrew Pattison is an unselfish player that played with trust in his teammates and looked to get guys involved in the action. He also showed the ability to score on all three levels. His dribble penetration game was very effective, his left to right crossover either freed him up for a pull-up jumper or opened the lane for a layup.
| Blaine Law | Small Forward | The Covenant School | 2023 |
This point forward did it all for his team out there, grabbing boards, getting buckets, and setting his teammates up. Blaine did an outstanding job of moving around the floor on the offensive end, he found openings in the paint as well as beyond the arc, and capitalized on it. I like how Blaine Law didn’t just stand there watching and waiting for the ball to come his way, he went after it, when a shot went up he crashed the boards where he could then start the fast break or get a second chance bucket. Blaine is very basketball savvy, he beat guys with his timely cuts to the basket and simple give and go plays. He also worked exceptionally well with his teammate Andrew Pattison when creating offense and scoring opportunities for his teammates.

| Pardon Mangwiro | Shooting Guard | North Forney | 2023 |
Pardon proved to be a very important piece for the Falcons, each time he stepped on the court he played with good aggression on the defensive end and on the offensive glass. Mangwiro appeared to be one of, if not the best defender on the team. He moved his feet exceptionally well and did a great job cutting off the ball-handlers pathway and shutting off passing lanes. Pardon Mangwiro seems like one of those guys that’s going to find a way to contribute with or without the ball.
