Here are the six power forwards who cracked the Kansas 2022 Player Rankings:
29 Henry Thengvall Henry Thengvall 6'5" | PF Kapaun Mt. Carmel | 2022 State KS , Kapaun:
The agile 6-foot-5 junior could be considered a very versatile center. He can move all over the offensive end, face the basket, and shoot from deep. He is a smooth ball handler who can make a move to the goal and create his own opportunity. He’s tough on the glass and athletic on the defensive end too.
42 Landon Wagler Landon Wagler 6'8" | PF Shawne Mission Northwest | 2022 State KS , Shawnee Mission Northwest (pictured):
Wagler is a high-energy 6-foot-4 versatile forward. He made plays all over the court for his summer MoKan club. He shoots the ball well, passes well, and can put it on the floor and use his physicality. He is active on defense and hits the boards hard.
45 Cole James Cole James 6'4" | PF DeSoto | 2022 State KS , DeSoto:
Putting James with Nate Barnhart Nate Barnhart 6'9" | PF DeSoto | 2021 State KS and Wyatt Noll Wyatt Noll 6'4" | PF DeSoto | 2021 State KS , DeSoto will be rich in big men this season. James is a fundamental and smart performer who can do some of everything. After ripping down rebounds, he looks up court and passes well. He can bring the ball up court himself, and facilitate offense. On the offensive end, he has good hands and nice moves in the lane.
53 Koen Hula Koen Hula 6'4" | PF Council Grove | 2022 State KS , Council Grove:
Hula earned honorable mention 3A as a sophomore and looks to do more this season. He’s a big, physical 6-foot-4 performer whose size belies his agility and coordination. He hustles and is active at both ends. He has great hands and catches, passes and handles the ball well. His size is a strength, but he’s much more than just a big man.
59 Brayden Schilling Brayden Schilling 6'5" | SF Hesston | 2022 State KS , Hesston:
Like Hula, Schilling received honorable mention 3A last season. The 6-foot-5 Schilling is athletic and agile for his size. He can score, but even more he affects the game with his rebounding, defense and toughness.
70 Kurtis Beck Kurtis Beck 6'4" | PF Nemaha Central | 2022 State KS , Nemaha Central:
One more 3A honorable mention choice, Beck runs well for his 6-foot-4 frame, and move with agility on both ends. He is active on defense, working hard to disrupt or get his hands on the ball. He is really active on the glass and works to follow up misses on the offensive end.
