Here are the five combo guards who cracked the Kansas 2022 Player Rankings:
32 Chase Harris Chase Harris 6'2" | CG Wichita Heights | 2022 State KS , Wichita Heights:
Harris showed his potential at Prep Hoops tournaments this summer. At 6-foot-2, he has size and length, but it is his ability to push the ball full court and shred defenses shows off his speed, ball-handling skill and elite athleticism. Harris finds teammates on the break, but he’s best when he’s just turning on the jets and going to the goal. He can shoot too, and his athleticism and aggressiveness make him a tough defender.
41 Elijah Brooks Elijah Brooks 6'3" | CG Topeka West | 2022 State KS , Topeka West (pictured):
Brooks is an elite athlete who is best at beating a defender on the perimeter and getting to the goal. At 6-foot-2 and with deceptive strength, he is a tough matchup for smaller guards to handle. He is explosive in the open court and can rebound and defend. Brooks was named third team 5A as a sophomore, when he averaged 17.5 points per game.
51 Will Gavin Will Gavin 6'1" | CG St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State KS , Aquinas:
Gavin earned honorable mention 5A. He is a smooth ball handler and elite shooter from the midrange and beyond the arc. The 6-foot-1 junior effortlessly glides around finding shots or kicking the ball to teammates. He’s willing to work at the defensive end and has a very versatile skill set.
52 Juan’Tario Roberts Juan’Tario Roberts 5'10" | CG Highland Park | 2022 State KS , Highland Park:
The creative jitterbug has been ripping up defenses since his freshman year at Highland Park. Roberts averaged 15 points per game for the surprising Scots who reached the state playoffs. The 5-foot-10 Roberts can get to the goal seemingly at will, and he pushes the ball fearlessly in the open court. Roberts earned honorable mention 5A last year.
63 Drew Stutesman Drew Stutesman 6'2" | CG Madison | 2022 State KS , Madison:
Stutesman was named second team 1A as a sophomore after he pumped in 13.8 points per game. He is a versatile offensive threat with who can create shots, as well as facilitate offense for others. The 6-foot-2 guard has good athleticism and size and can impact the game in many ways.
