Michael Bova Michael Bova 6'2" | CG St. Edward | 2022 State OH , 6’2 PG Saint Edward 2022
Co-MVP of the event with Elmore James Elmore James 6'4" | SG Brush | 2022 State OH . Bova knows how to score the basketball with limited dribbles and plays very well off point guards. His slashing ability is super impressive as he can break you down off the bounce and create space for himself to finish. Every time I see him he’s a productive, winning basketball player. Bova will look to take a major scoring increase next season for Saint Eds after the Eagles graduated basically their entire core from last season.
Elmore James Elmore James 6'4" | SG Brush | 2022 State OH , 6’4 SG Brush 2022
Co-MVP of the event with Michael Bova Michael Bova 6'2" | CG St. Edward | 2022 State OH . James is starting to shoot the basketball off the bounce and the catch and it completely opens up everything about his half-court offensive game. Muscular frame allows him to bully some smaller guards when attacking the hoop. Stock is rapidly going up right now.
Amani Lyles Amani Lyles 6'7" | C Beechcroft | 2022 State OH , 6’8 PF Beechcroft 2022
Lyles was dominating at 270 events all summer but came a bit back down to earth in this one. Looked much more comfortable on the offensive end as the C as opposed to playing with Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH . At 6’8 I’m not sure how much small-ball C he can play at the next level but it’s how you get the most out of him offensively. Stock is already going up but should continue to rise during the high school season. Took advantage of quarantine by hitting the weight room often and is looking incredible physically.
Jamal Sumlin, 6’2 PG Cleveland Heights 2022
Had maybe the most offensive rebounds in the entire event. Had a couple highlight playground style moves but was fairly quiet with scoring and playmaking throughout the event. Sumlin’s go to move when attacking the basket is his floater and he flashed that skill throughout the event. Competed on both ends of the floor, really enjoyed his effort.
Tyler Ganley Tyler Ganley 6'2" | CG Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2022 State OH , 6’3 SG Brecksville-Broadview Heights 2022
Shot the cover off the basketball, off the catch, off the bounce, off-ball movement. Didn’t matter, Ganley was knocking shots down. Looked more than capable of competing physically with top tier guards in the state. Showed he’s more than just a shooter but it’s what really sets him apart from other prospects.
