Take a look at our Let’s Get Ready IV MOP here:
Malachi Black Malachi Black 6'7" | PF Detroit University Prep Art & Design | 2021 State MI (2021, F, Detroit University Prep Art & Design)
Black is on the list for MOP and Stockrisers. The reason? That improved jumper he showed at the event is a big deal. He’s an above the rim athlete and finisher, so adding a consistent jumper makes him a big time threat.
Donald Davis (2021, G, Bendle)
Sometimes at a showcase, all it takes is to get noticed. I certainly noticed Davis. He didn’t score a ton of points, but he didn’t need to. Davis stayed active on the offensive glass and was a plus factor defensively.
Lavell Broadnex (2021, G/F, Saginaw)
Broadnex has all the ability needed to be an influential player at the next level. We’ve underrated him for far too long, and he convinced me of that at Let’s Get Ready IV.
Nick Ellis Nick Ellis 6'7" | PF Grand Ledge | 2022 State MI (2022, PF, Grand Ledge)
Ellis was lights out at the event. He was one of the most active and influential bigs. Ellis worked the screen and roll to perfection and made himself available for a dish when his guards penetrated.
Jeremiah Henderson Jeremiah Henderson 6'0" | PG Detroit PershingArts & Media | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, CMA)
Henderson was really impressive on offense. He showed the ability to create and score, and he did it in bunches at times. Henderson played with confidence when the ball was in his hands.
Micah Sauders (2023, CG, Adrian)
Saunders was one of the biggest eye opening players at Let’s Get Ready IV. He kept the ball moving on the perimeter, making quick and appropriate decisions on what to do with the ball. Saunders moved without the ball as well, making the defense account for him.
Daniel Smythe (2024, CG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
This young man has a huge future ahead in high school basketball. His game and basketball IQ are well beyond his years. Smythe is a confident young shooter with a slippery drive to the rim.
Tyran Thomas Tyran Thomas 6'4" | SG Northview | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, Northview)
Thomas has potential oozing from him. He’s a vertical guard that can make a difference in the paint as well with his ability to rebound high even among the bigs. Thomas is a nice finisher under the rim. He can really excel in the open floor.
Andre Turner Andre Turner 6'1" | CG Livonia Stevenson | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Sterling Heights Stevenson)
Turner had the looks of an ultra aggressive lead guard. He poked and prodded the defense until he found a hole, in one case leading to 11 quick points.
Teddy Williams Teddy Williams 6'6" | PF Grand Ledge | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Grand Ledge)
Williams made as much of a statement as anyone in the gym at Let’s Get Ready IV. He handled the ball more than I had seen before, and he was remarkably steady in doing so. Williams’ day was highlighted by an 18 point (unofficial) performance.
