Continue ReadingThe Let’s Get Ready IV camp took place at the MAAC in Clio Michigan on November first and was loaded with talented players. I was lucky enough to work the event and while picking a first team with all the talent that was there would be hard. Here are my super seven standouts from the event.
Aiden Rubio 6’5 2021 Goodrich-Won the camp MOP and continued his strong play. Great athletic, attacks the basket well, and can shoot it. Seeing him at both the Prep Hoops Top 250 expo and at this event it is clear he is one of the best unsigned players in the state.
Jaylen Hodges Jaylen Hodges 6'3" | PG Bridgeport | 2021 State MI 6’4 2021 Bridgeport-Speaking of long and athletic. I like Jaylen a lot, saw him a few years ago and he was the one guy who played well in Bridgeport’s lost to Alma in the regional semi-finals. Now a senior he is really starting to come in to his own.
Malachi Black Malachi Black 6'7" | PF Detroit University Prep Art & Design | 2021 State MI 6’7 2021 United Prep-He was definitely in the running for camp MOP as well as he had a great camp. Good athletic build who can really jump. Rebounded and finished well and was a vocal leader during the camp as well.
Kentrell Pullian Kentrell Pullian 6'0" | CG Benton Harbor | 2021 State MI 6’0 2021 Benton Harbor-Scoring guard who is going to put up some numbers at Benton Harbor this year with all the seniors they lost. Has a lot of confidence and he is always in his shooting range.
Keyon Mennifield 6’2 2021 Flint Beecher-He was also a good lead guard who would attack the basket and distribute or score himself, but now that he grew and is a legit 6’2 and long and lanky he is even better. Cleveland State has offered and many more should. He blocked shots, got a tip dunk, tons of steals, and scored inside and out, while also running the pick n roll well.
Lavell Brodnex Lavell Brodnex 6'4" | SG Saginaw | 2021 State MI 6’3 2021 Saginaw High-Super athletic and skilled and one of the most underrated players in the state. He can flat out play. Aggressive on both ends of the floor, above average rebounder and he plays hard all the time.
Brady Titus Brady Titus 5'10" | PG Tri-Unity Christian | 2022 State MI 5’10 2022 Tri-Unity Christian-I have seen him so much I almost don’t even recognize how good he plays most of the time because I just expect it. Quick with the ball, good passer and he can score. Just an extremely talented point guard as him and Pullian lead the team that had the best record in camp.
