Let’s Get Ready IV: Player Improvement – Part 1
Jonah Botardo Jonah Botardo 5'5" | PG Troy Athens | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Troy Athens)
Botardo is a relentless lead guard. Not only is he not afraid to take the ball in with the bigs, it seems like he enjoys it. Botardo could be on the verge of a breakout season.
Ryan Brenner Ryan Brenner 6'4" | SF Frankenmuth | 2021 State MI (2021, SG, Frankenmuth)
Brenner has had a really nice fall showcase season, and that continued at this event. He is tough as nails and wins hustle points on both ends. If a college coach wants a grinder on the perimeter, look no further.
Donald Davis (2021, SG, Bendle)
Davis really impressed me at this event. He constantly moved without the ball and always found a way to make a difference in the game.
John Ford John Ford 5'10" | PG Melvindale | 2023 State MI Jr. (2023, PG, Melvindale)
Ford Jr. proved to be a young floor general with a nice upside. He could create space off the dribble and was a much tougher scorer than I anticipated. He’s a player to watch over the next couple years.
Michael Justice (2021, PF, Troy Athens)
Justice really made a name for himself this summer and fall. He showed that he can battle in the paint as well as play a efficient mid range game.
Leo Kent Leo Kent 6'4" | SG Rochester Stoney Creek | 2023 State MI (2023, G/F, Flushing)
Kent was a different player than the last time I saw him. He was much more confident and that translated to the floor. Kent played aggressively all afternoon.
Daniel Smythe (2024, SG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
This might not be fair since he’s a freshman, but come on, you don’t play this well without getting better. Smythe is so poised for a freshman and has a pure stroke on his jumper.
Andre Turner Andre Turner 6'1" | CG Livonia Stevenson | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Sterling Heights Stevenson)
Turner was flat out terrific at Let’s Get Ready IV. He played downhill all day and created opportunities for himself and his teammates.
Teddy Williams Teddy Williams 6'6" | PF Grand Ledge | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Grand Ledge)
I’ve always thought Williams was a solid prospect, but he sent a message statewide this fall. He showed a well rounded game and improvement in all aspects of it. Williams looks to be on pace for a huge sophomore season.
