? What motivates you to play the game of basketball and continue to improve?
DC: I’m 7’1, I play for Bristol Central High School. What motivates me to keep working and getting better is my mom, she lost the battle to cancer over 2 years ago. I know she would want me to keep working and be great, I also want do it for myself, I just want be great.
PH: Who’s the biggest influencer in your life?
DC: My parents, they always wanted what’s best for me and always do whatever they have to do so I can play this sport.
PH: Your AAU team, Team Spartans, played a competitive schedule this summer. What were some of your take away’s from the summer experience?
DC: This summer was very different with everything going on. We played as much as we could during the pandemic and we all worked hard, but something big I took from this summer was not to take a single play off, you never know who is watching.
PH: How has the recruitment process been for you so far?
DC: The recruiting process has been going pretty well. I’ve been talking to a lot of great coaches and learning new things from them. It’s really a dream come true.
PH: You seem like a simple guy, how are you handling all of the recognition you’ve been receiving?
DC: My biggest thing is to always stay humble and hungry. I keep a small circle and don’t let the outside noise bother me.
PH: What are some of your hobbies off the court?
DC: Outside of basketball, I love to go fishing and hang out with friends.
PH: Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
DC: 5-10 years from now I see myself making money somewhere. I don’t want sound cocky, but if I keep working and wanting to be great, I hope to be making money, whether it’s playing overseas or the NBA.
