Various grassroots events have given players an opportunity to showcase their game in lieu of the high school basketball regular season. At the Hoops 2.0 Showcase, there were a few players that stood out and are in line for strong years once the season begins. 

Here’s a look at some of the players who stood out to me.

1. Devean Williams - Narbonne 2021

Williams is a very talented wing who has already heard from several colleges both in state and out of state. He’s an unselfish player who can do a little playmaking and look for his teammates in halfcourt sets. Can draw the defense and kick out to shooters. He’s comfortable creating for himself too and he reads the defense well and adjusts; a patient player. He can also move without the ball and make cuts around the rim.

2. Chris NickelberryChrisNickelberry5'10" | PGDamien | 2021State - Damian 2022

Nickelberry is a player I tabbed over the summer as being a potential breakout player and he’s on his way to becoming that. He’s a point guard and a crafty ball-handler. Quick off the dribble and get to his spots on the court. He can shoot off the bounce or get
