All of these guys are unranked, but a few of them will be on our rankings board in no time while the others will likely have a breakout season this year.
| Charles Walker | Forward | International Leadership of Texas, Arlington | 2021 |
Incredibly high motor, high IQ prospect with terrific instincts on both offense and defense. Charles Walker is the perfect glue guy, very versatile, always willing to do all of the dirty work, make the extra pass, and consistently finds a way to be in the right spot at the right time. He has such a great feel for the game, his knack for moving without the ball is uncanny, an outstanding backdoor cutter with the ability to finish at the rim. His touch down low is still developing, but his turnaround and spins move are effective and free him with enough space to convert shots through traffic. Charles has a good combination of strength, athleticism, and toughness. His reflexes are impeccable as well, impressive use of his hands and length, Walker can alter shots and passes all game long. This fantastic rebounder is not only tenacious on the boards, but also when challenging shots at the rim, and going after steals, Walker can be a terror in the passing lanes. Charles doesn’t have to dominate the ball or score a whole lot to make his presence felt or have an impact on the game, he’s the type of player that can lead a team in assist and rebounds on any given night. He’s one of those athletes that care about nothing but winning, this forward is the ultimate competitor, nobody outworks Walker when he’s on the floor. Charles Walker may be pretty raw and still developing his game, but he has a very good upside, his ability to change the game in so many ways makes him a pivotal piece for his team’s success on the court.
| Jayden Ty’Rawn Anthony | Shooting Guard | Arlington High School | 2021 |
This young man is a great offensive weapon to have on your team, he’s a score-first guard who is highly confident in his abilities. Anthony has a good knack for scoring and putting up points in bunches, he can put the ball in the hole whenever he wants to, however, he wants to by using his raw skills and instincts. It doesn’t take Ty’Rawn much time or many shots to heat up either, he’s always willing and ready to get a bucket. A solid ball-handler, stays under control, does a great job of driving the lane with his off-hand, reading defenders, finding angles to the basket, and breaking his man down when isolated out on the perimeter. Very smooth game, good form, nice fluid concise motion, high release, and the perfect elevation are what allow him to be so effective off the dribble from both mid and 3-point range. His quick rising pull-up can be deadly in the mid-range, especially when he’s hot, particularly around the free-throw line area, also a good spot-up shooter, his shooting efficiency only continues to improve. Ty’Rawn shows a high-level feel for the game at times with the way he plays on and off the ball. He passes well out of the two-guard position, once Anthony has the defenses’ eyes on him he’ll start setting his guys up and hitting open and cutting teammates. Most players this productive on the offensive end take plays off on defense, but not Ty’Rawn. He makes impactful plays due to his effort, length, and athleticism. A tough on-ball defender that can be a threat in the passing lanes, and has good enough leaping ability to pick up chase-down blocks from time to time. Ty’Rawn has shown a killer instinct as well, he can take over games and he’s not afraid to take the big shot. Good potential, there’s no telling how good he can actually become, all he has to do is keep that fire in his belly, continue to work harder than the next man, and keep a good attitude.
| Dorian Manigo | Point Guard | Arlington Lamar | 2021 |
Senior guard, Dorian Manigo is electrifying with lightning-speed and spectacular footwork. He plays with a truly fearless nature, Dorian will crossover and pull-up in your face from well beyond the arc and hit nothing but net. The Lamar guard is a knockdown 3-point shooter from all around the perimeter in every way possible, whether it’s a spot-up, catch-and-shoot, or pull-up jumper, he does them all equally well at a high level. Dorian shows phenomenal concentration on every jump shot he takes, quickly squares up and releases, it doesn’t matter if a defender is flying at him to contest or not, he’s going to shoot that same shot. Great finisher with his left hand, converts layups and floaters over taller defenders. Not afraid of physical play either, will initiate contact, absorb it, adjust his body in mid-air, and finish difficult shots. Tight, controlled ball skills, Dorian doesn’t over dribble he makes every bounce count, any move he makes is effective and creates the space needed. Superfast lateral speed, if you blink you might miss him, this guard blows right past defenders in transition with ease. Dorian Manigo is not only one of the best 3-point shooters in Arlington, but he also has one of the best upsides, whatever role Dorian is given at the next level I am sure he will exceed at it.
