There are 10 teams in this session and I viewed 5 local teams in AZ Compass Prep, Bella Vista Prep, Dream City Christian, Phhoenix Prep and Phhoenix Prep Blue.
There are 5 other teams in the Bubble with Veritas Prep (CA), Prolific Prep (CA), West Oaks (FL), US Basketball (OR) and one other local team I will see Nov 11th in Eduprize.
Here were some of the junior standouts I viewed:
Jaden Clayton Jaden Clayton 6'1" | PG Fort Erie | 2022 AZ Dream City Christian (Pictured)
-An old school pure PG has a nice shooting stroke from the 3pt line. He has a tight handle and real speed in the open court. He has a good burst into the lane to use the floater. His passing, speed and skill separates him from many undersized PG’s. He moved over here from Ontario, Canada.
Joel Speckman Joel Speckman 6'8" | PF Chaparral | 2022 State CO Phhoenix Prep & Phhoenix Prep Blue
-Strong bodied 4-man can face-up to the 3pt line. He has good strength and his best skill by a lot at this point is his rebounding. He has long arms and springs up quickly to corral the ball. He also boxes just about as good as you can. Ball fakes and can straight line drive. When he is in rhythm he can rattle off some 3’s.
Sidney Wooten Sidney Wooten 5'10" | PG Phh Prep | 2022 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Blue
-A quick PG has good court vision and real speed. He makes catch-3’s plus he can pull-up off the dribble. He is getting stronger since last year, when he was at 145 lbs (now 160 lbs) and he grew two inches. He runs their ‘B’ team well and makes good reads to facilitate and will hit shots to go along with his speed.
Cameron Harris Cameron Harris 6'4" | SG Bull City Prep | 2022 NC Bella Vista Prep
-A strong bodied two-guard is a natural downhill player but was flashing his much improved shooting. He rattled off four 3’s off the catch and got into the lane and uses the floater well. He has a super quick shooting release with a compact stroke. He rebounds well in his area with his bigger frame.
Orlando Gonzales Orlando Gonzales 6'0" | PG Leading Edge Academy | 2022 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Blue
-He has a great feel for the game and is a natural scoring lead guard with NBA line range. He made a few 3’s from the parking lot that Prolific Prep didn’t even realize he has that range. He has a quick trigger and has ultimate confidence. When he gets into the lane he has a polished floater he utilizes often. He can also drive and kick it out to a shooter and he is a good ball handler.
