Most of these are from the summer travel team season and fall camps. Here is our Film Room: 2021 Prospects Part 1!
Jalen Houston Jalen Houston 6'0" | PG Hyde Park | 2021 NC (Bogan)
This 6’2” point guard is one of the more dynamic playmaking guards still on the board in the 2021 class. Houston has game changing speed in the open floor with his burst to the hoop and ability to change gears while having the ball on a string. Finishes well in the paint through or around contact. Low-major and D2 programs should be looking into Houston.
Phoenix Smith Phoenix Smith 6'3" | SG Chicago Christian | 2021 IL (Chicago Christian)
Smith is a 6’3” thick bodied two guard that played with the Chi-Town Warriors this summer. Capable shooter hitting spot up threes with a nice lefty stroke along with pulling up from deep. Showed potential working in ball screen situations.
Skylar Crudup (Joliet West)
This 6’0” point guard brings toughness and is a scrappy glue guy. The guard does a nice job of rebounding for his size, being a help defender, and has a nose for the ball.
Jovan Alexander (Steinmetz)
The 6’1” combo guard is a right handed dominant guard that has some passing flair and is a solid defender.
Adam Claybourne Adam Claybourne 6'4" | SG Longwood | 2021 State IL Jr (Longwood)
The Longwood 6’5” small forward ran with Team MORE on the circuit this summer. Strong body and powerful frame. Most effective scoring from the mid-range and in. Plays with a lot of physicality especially crashing the glass. Potential to continue to develop shooting.
Stephen Harris (Buffalo Grove)
Harris is a 6’0” lead guard that is a capable shooter hitting an open shots. Has a slight hitch at times on the release. Acrobatic guard getting downhill with scoop shots. Cuts passing lanes on the defensive end.
Danny New Danny New 6'1" | PG Aurora Christian | 2022 IL (Aurora Christian)
New is a 6’1” combo guard that brings a strong body and crisp ball handling to the table. Gets to the rim pretty consistently when in the open floor. Ideal small college player.
Dylan Ingram Dylan Ingram 6'6" | PF Simeon | 2021 State IL (Simeon)
Ingram is a 6’5” combo forward that showcased his shooting from the fall league in this video. Hit quite a few triples showing a nice looking stroke with a bit of a push shot at times. Like his versatility as a defender being able to guard inside and out. Crashes the glass well especially on the offensive end. Tough glue guy.
Matas Deksnys Matas Deksnys 6'8" | SF Lockport | 2021 State IL (Lockport)
This long and lanky 6’7” small forward is a big time shooter. The lefty drills threes at a high rate with a quick and concise release. Showed that off in the video with his perimeter stoke knocking down threes off the catch, pulling up, and would step in off a shot fake for a mid-range pull up. Constantly moving without the ball setting up threes or moves to the basket for layups off a strong cut. D2 programs should dive into his tape.
Donovan Johnson (Rich Township)
Johnson is a 6’0” guard that is a smooth ball handler and a threat shooting off the catch.
Gary Clay Gary Clay 6'3" | SG Hyde Park | 2021 State IL (Rich Township)
Clay is an athletic and fluid 6’4” two guard that has shifty handles off the bounce and a crisp pull up game. Plus athlete that has developmental upside.
Devonta Blevins Devonta Blevins 6'4" | SG Rich East | 2021 State IL (Rich Township)
Blevins is a 6’6” small forward with big time athleticism. The long and athletic wing has plus size and bounce. He is excellent playing above the rim with acrobatic finishes. Long strides attacking downhill with a burst. Upside prospect.
Semaj Greer (Rich Township)
Greer is a 5’9” small point guard. The small guard is shifty with the rock in his hands making plays in the lane on runners and layups.
Willie Finch (Rich Township)
Finch has solid size at 6’3”. He is an athletic guard that should be a good glue guy.
