2021 6’6 Jordan Robinson | Avalon
Another sleeper kid on Avalon is 2021 Jordan Robinson. Robinson has intriguing size for the wing position standing at 6’6 with some solid strength. Robinson is very versatile which allows him to defend multiple positions and rebound the ball well on both ends of the floor. Robinson is a strong student carrying a 3.7 GPA which is why some of the best division three schools from the area are all over him.
2022 5’11 DeJuan Campbell DeJuan Campbell 6'1" | PG Kecoughtan | 2022 State VA | Kecoughtan
Kecoughtan had an impressive victory over John Marshall and part of the reason for that was because of the facilitating by Campbell. Campbell runs the show for Kecoughtan and was setting up his teammates perfectly all night long. Campbell can also score the basketball extremely well and is up there as one of the best scorers in the 757 area.
2022 6’3 Leon Rodgers II | Indian River
I did not know a thing about Rodgers before this event but walked away very impressed with the potential and upside. Rodgers has great size standing at about 6’3 with long arms. He is solid in transition where can beat his defenders with his dribble and finish well. He also displayed some very nice passing and does a good job of creating opportunities for his teammates.
2022 6’3 Shaquille Samuels | Avalon
Expect to hear a lot more about Samuels as he should have a big junior season with Avalon. Samuels is 6’3 with some good muscle on him that allows him to defend multiple positions on defense. He sat down well on defense and looks capable of defending high level talent. He is smooth with the basketball in his hands and can do a lot of things on offense. I saw him shoot it from deep this past weekend and he also showed he can take defenders to the rim where he can finish with contact but also draw fouls and get to the free throw line.
2023 6’3 Josiah Rickards | Bishop Sullivan
Even for an underclassmen, Rickards was one of the best players in the gym this past Saturday at “Feast Jam”. Rickards has a tight handle that he uses well to get to his spots and has the making to be a successful playmaking guard. He showed that he can shoot the basketball well and is confident in his shot as he hit the go ahead bucket to give Bishop Sullivan a win over Oscar Smith. Rickards is a name to watch in the 2023 class from the 757 area as he reminds me of St. Joe’s 2021 commit Erik Reynolds Erik Reynolds 6'2" | CG Bullis | 2021 State #197 Nation MD .
