College Commitment: Liam Ruttledge (2021 Jesuit)
Liam Ruttledge Liam Ruttledge 6'2" | CG Jesuit | 2021 State OR is off the board. The sharp-shooting 6-foot-3, 170-pound wing from Jesuit had been looking at a number of different college options at a number of different levels. But when it came down to it, one program fit him the best both on and off the basketball floor and on Sunday, Ruttledge announced that he was committing to Puget Sound.
“I really loved what coach Shelton was doing up there,” Ruttledge said. “He had a great group of guys put together and I saw myself fitting into the team very well. I felt it’s a place I can make an impact on the court and be pushed to be the best player and young man I can be. I also loved the campus and area and feel that I can be challenged academically to be the best student-athlete I can be as well!”
With all that said, it made no sense to wait any longer to make a decision so Ruttledge made the call. On the basketball floor, the lefty should fit right in on the wing with his ability to knock down threes in addition to a still-improving ability to get to the basket and finish. He’s all set on getting ready for the college level.
“I’m focused on becoming stronger and still working to become a better ball handler,” Ruttledge said. “I’m also focused on extending my range so I can feel comfortable shooting from anywhere.”
Ruttledge currently ranks as the #25 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 rankings. He is the first member of the senior class to commit to a NCAA Division III school.
