It’s no secret that college coaches at all levels are constantly shopping for the perfect player for their team. Well coaches, here are some absolute steals for you from the class of 2022, in honor of the biggest shopping day of the year.
Jalen Charity Jalen Charity 6'5" | CG Northview | 2022 State MI (SG, Northview)
Charity has a very high ceiling, and a college coach could get an absolute steal with this young man. He has good positional size and strength. Charity can score from multiple spots on the floor.
Drew Barrie Drew Barrie 6'4" | SG Midland | 2022 State MI (SG, Midland)
Barrie is a rising prospect that college coaches will want to get on immediately. He’s smooth and smart in the backcourt, making the right reads with quickness and ease. Barrie has all the intangibles that can make him a big pick up at the next level.
Terrance Broughton Terrance Broughton 6'0" | PG Cass Tech | 2022 State MI (PG, Romulus)
Don’t let this player sneak under the radar. Broughton is a playmaker for his Romulus squad. He is an explosive guard with solid start-stop speed that allows him to create for himself and his teammates.
Dane Coleman Dane Coleman 6'3" | SF Davison | 2022 State MI (SF, Davison)
Coleman is a prospect that, without a doubt, deserves more publicity. Let’s start on the defensive end. Coleman is a physical perimeter defender that has a stopper mentality. Offensively, he’s a solid shooter and very efficient passer.
Ethan Dunn Ethan Dunn 6'10" | C Elevation Prep | 2022 IN (C, East Lansing)
Dunn might be the second most talented true center in the class of 2022. And that’s behind a highly nationally ranked prospect. He has the size and strength needed for a next level post player. Dunn has soft hands and a very impressive mid range game to go with it.
Joe Francis Joe Francis 6'4" | SG Adrian | 2022 State MI (SG, Adrian)
Francis is a scorer at heart and he plays with that mentality. The best thing is, he recognizes what a good shot looks like and doesn’t really force up bad ones. Francis could be a huge addition to a college team looking for buckets from the 2.
Delrecco Gillespie Delrecco Gillespie 6'7" | PF East Coweta | 2022 State GA (F, Benton Harbor)
Gillespie had a really impressive summer and fall season, capped by a lights out performance at the Prep Hoops Michigan Top 250 Expo. He scored from multiple levels, showing a nice touch on the ball. Gillespie wasn’t afraid to take contact and score through it in the paint.
JaVaughn Hannah JaVaughn Hannah 6'4" | SG Orchard Lake St. Mary's | 2022 State #221 Nation MI (SG, Ypsi Prep)
I’m a huge fan of Hannah’s game and what he brings to the table. Hannah plays downhill and can be an absolute firecracker on the offensive end. He can put up points, and do it in bunches. D1’s need to see him play right away.
Treyvon Lewis Treyvon Lewis 6'5" | SF Ferndale | 2022 State MI (G/F, Ferndale)
Lewis has garnered a lot of attention from Division 1 coaches, and deservedly so. He’s a fluent attacker from the wing and he forces defenses to always be aware of him. Lewis has shown a very high ceiling all summer and fall, and he should rise even more during high school season.
Shawn Phillips (C, Ypsi Prep)
Phillips is one of the more highly regarded centers in the country. He can play the game at any pace and is extremely dangerous finishing on a put back. Phillips plays a vertical and athletic game on the defensive end.
