In our weekly CenTex Roundup series, we highlight some of the top scorers from the Austin-San Antonio Metroplex who impressed during that given week of the season. Today’s article features four San Antonio-Metroplex players who scorched opponents and one north Austin guard who continues his hot scoring streak to begin the season.
Here are the top five scorers from Week 2:

Junior combo-guard Kendall Dow Kendall Dow 6'1" | PG San Antonio Johnson | 2022 State TX has been on a scoring tear to begin the season putting up 30 points in Johnson’s win over Harlan and another 34 points in their 65-58 win over Warren. Dow pushes the pace in transition and does a good job finishing at the basket. He has also shown he can be a lethal knockdown three-point shooter, while also being a threat to finish in the mid-range.

Antonian Prep’s new transfer in junior point guard Xavier Martinez Xavier Martinez 5'11" | PG Antonian Prep | 2022 State TX hasn’t missed a beat to open the season and had a huge showing in his 32 points in the Apaches 92-73 win over Wagner. Martinez has the short-area quickness and handles to create his own shot, whether that be nailing four three-pointers or finding his way to the basket and finishing at the rim.
Seth McCarty | C | New Braunfels Canyon (2022)
McCarty was mentioned in our Judson-Canyon game recap article, and he deserves another mention here as he posted an impressive 32 points in the Cougars loss last Tuesday. With a soft touch on his shots in the paint and around the block, McCarty finished 13-of-17 from the field and 6-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Shane Perales Shane Perales 6'0" | PG South San Antonio | 2022 State TX | PG | South San Antonio (2022)
A sharpshooting point guard who can hit from the mid-range and from deep, Perales put up 30 points in South San Antonio’s 58-51 win over McCollum. The junior playmaker is quick and decisive in his movements and shows good lift and consistency on his shots. Not only did he put up the huge 30 point performance, but he also followed it up with a game-winning shot against Stevens on Saturday.

Hutto has jumped out to a 3-1 record to start the season and is led by junior point guard

, who had his best offensive performance of the season in 26 points with the win over Georgetown this past week. Smart knocked down 6 three-pointers in the contest, showing that he can catch fire from beyond-the-arc in any given matchup.
