One of the things we like to do each year is to try and predict who will make the All-Met Teams. Here is a breakdown of 10 players who should have a reasonable chance of making one of the teams.
Quincy Allen Quincy Allen 6'7" | SF Maret | 2021 State #125 Nation MD
Allen is an All-MAC player who can reinforce his first-team All-Met credentials by leading Maret to a competitive run in the league. The Colorado commit has a good chance to meet this goal if he’s able to get the best from his teammates on a consistent basis.
TJ Gadsden TJ Gadsden 6'6" | PF St. Andrew's | 2021 MD
Gadsden grew into a vocal leader during his team’s run to the MAC Championship a season ago. His level of consistency will ultimately determine where he falls on the totem pole.
Elijah Hawkins Elijah Hawkins 5'9" | PG DeMatha | 2021 State MD
Hawkins has earned praise as a top-level on-ball defender but is underrated in terms of his scoring and playmaking ability. It’s only a matter of time before he gets the recognition he deserves.
Garrett Johnson Garrett Johnson 6'7" | SG Episcopal | 2021 State VA
Johnson emerged as a productive two-way player for Coach Fitzpatrick last year at Episcopal. Expect the future Princeton Tiger to keep building from the momentum he’s created.
Knasir McDaniel Knasir McDaniel 5'9" | PG Paul VI Cathlolic (VA) | 2022 State #126 Nation VA
McDaniel has the potential to be the assist king around these parts when you consider his uncanny feel in conjunction with PVI’s tendency to push the pace. He’s pulled new tricks out of his bag each year and it will be fun to see what he’s got planned moving forward.
Erik Reynolds Erik Reynolds 6'2" | CG Bullis | 2021 State #197 Nation MD
Reynolds is an energetic player who has had some exciting moments in his time at Bullis. He was one of the first names that came to mind when thinking of this list.
Andre Speight Andre Speight 6'3" | SG South County | 2021 State VA
Speight has been a key part of some very successful teams at South County. This year, expectations will remain high. If Speight is able to deliver the goods, he should be strongly considered for the first team.
Stephaun Walker Stephaun Walker 6'7" | PF Coolidge | 2022 State MD
Walker is a linchpin of a talented young core coming up at Coolidge. He’s been a walking double-double throughout his first two years of high school and should continue making his mark.
Thomas Whitley Thomas Whitley 6'6" | PF Eleanor Roosevelt | 2021 State MD
Whitley remains under-the-radar in the local 2021 class, but his coming-out party could be upon us. Watch out for him this season at Roosevelt.
Mike Woods Mike Woods 6'4" | SF Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD
Woods has been trending in the right direction for quite some time now. The Douglass standout will probably be well-positioned to close out his high school career in style.
