Griffin Shaver Griffin Shaver 6'1" | PG Ontario | 2021 State OH , 6’1 PG Ontario: Shaver had a big time summer playing for the Ohio Buckets. A tough point guard who is not afraid to be physical on both ends of the court. Jump-shot has a funky release but he does usually make shots from the outside. Shaver is another NW Ohio kid who excels on both the hardwood and the gridiron and will compete against anybody.
Marcos Vasquez Marcos Vasquez 5'11" | PG Garfield Heights | 2021 State OH , 5’11 PG Garfield Heights: Vasquez is one of many Cleveland Senate league players who decided to transfer due to uncertainty around the conference playing sports this school year. Because of this, Vasquez will be suiting up for Garfield Heights for his senior year, leaving East Tech. Vasquez will have a major role for the Bulldogs after Meechie Johnson Meechie Johnson 6'2" | PG Garfield Heights | 2020 OH announced he’d be enrolling at Ohio State a year earlier than expected. Vasquez can really score the basketball and should see his recruitment take a spike with good performances this high school season.
Maro Egodotaye Maro Egodotaye 6'10" | C Dayton Caroll | 2022 State OH , 6’10 C Dayton Carroll: Egodotaye impressed at the Dayton open gym organized by Miami Valley Hoop Vault and Triple Double Prospects. With his size he had a significant height advantage on his defenders and used this to score around the basket and block shots. Anthony Peters also recapped his impressive defensive performance at the prep hoops top 250 Expo this fall.
Gavin Dobbins Gavin Dobbins 6'2" | SG Open Door | 2021 State OH , 6’2 SG Open Door: Dobbins shot the lights out at the Kenny Anderson showcase and continued to show his prolific outside shooting ability at the NEO Top 20 combine second session. Open Door received some buzz a couple years ago when they were one of the top D4 teams in the state with current Lake Erie Storm guard Trey Brooks, however Dobbins seems to be flying under the radar.
Steven Key Steven Key 5'11" | PG Mentor | 2021 State OH , 5’11 PG Mentor: Key played really well for TNBA with fellow Mentor guards Luke Chicone Luke Chicone 5'9" | PG Mentor | 2021 State OH and Jonah Waag Jonah Waag 6'2" | SG Mentor | 2021 State OH . The trio will be crucial for the Cardinals this season, relying on chemistry built over the summer. Key can attack the basket and can play as both a primary ball handler but is best utilized off-ball where he scoring gravity can be unleashed. Mentor should be playing in some very important games this season, so college coaches have some time to familiarize themselves with Key.
Dominic Cork Dominic Cork 6'6" | PF Cambridge | 2021 State OH , 6’6 PF Cambridge: Cork was a player previously unknown to myself before solid performances at the Route 33 Challenge and 270 Hoops Country Roads event. Cork is a bruiser on the glass who throws his body around in the paint. Cork did show the ability to occasionally stretch the floor from the corners. Cork plays his role well and doesn’t try and do too much and would be a welcome big depth piece to a college program.
