The rankings of 2021 players got an update in October. The periodic update rewards a handful of players who demonstrated their ability over the summer.
Here are some of the wings and bigs who made big moves in the Kansas 2021 Player Rankings:
Jack Chapman
JackChapman6'5" | CGBlue Valley Northwest | 2021StateKS, Blue Valley Northwest, #8 to #5 (3 spots):
The first team 6A star moved up three spots in the rarified air of the top 8, but it’s even more impressive when you consider that a new #1 – Kennedy ChandlerKennedyChandler6'1" | PGSunrise Chrisitan | 2021State#14NationKS – pushed everyone down a slot. Chapman couldn’t do much more to impress this summer. When he wasn’t throwing down two-handed dunks, he was raining down 3-pointers at every showcase. At 6-foot-7, he can run, pass, handle the ball, and perhaps most impressive is his accuracy from deep.
Ben Fritz
BenFritz6'5" | PFBlue Valley Northwest | 2021StateKS, Blue Valley Northwest, #42 to #34 (8 spots):
Fritz was a freight train in the open floor at the Kansas Top 250 Expo. He showed that his athleticism will be on an elite level his senior year. He is by no means in the shadow of Chapman and Alston Mason

Carter Lichtsinn
CarterLichtsinn6'4" | SFOlathe West | 2021StateKS, Olathe West, 123 to 35 (88 spots):
Lichtsinn showed he belonged higher in the rankings with his play on the summer circuit. But that was no surprise. He was honorable mention 6A as a junior. He is a real versatile 6-foot-4 wing. He has the physicality to play in the lane, but he’s really effective on the wing. He can shoot from deep, as well as put the ball on the floor and make things happen.
Tanner Hecht
TannerHecht6'5" | CGWamego | 2021StateKS, Wamego, #46 to #35 (8 spots):
Hecht may have gone a bit under-appreciated at Wamego, but playing with a real talented CarrolGoL1ve club, he showed he belongs in elite company. He should be considered among the best shooters in the state. Left open on the wing with CarrolGoL1ve, Hecht was lights-out. At the Kansas Top 250 Expo, he further demonstrated his talents. Not only did he pop open threes, he created his own shots, helped others score, rebounded, and exhibited his serious hops.
