Listed below are the top ten schools located in the good life state that have exceeded gracefully, despite unprecedented times. God bless America.
Skutt Catholic
Bellevue West
The Thunderbirds are ranked 2nd in Nebraska and 1st in Class A competition. On the road to a consecutive state title, Bellevue West is coached by the legendary Doug Woodard with a previous record of 24-3. Averaging 70 points per game, if the opposing team can’t score, consider them losers. The T-Birds are ranked 360th nationally.
Bancroft Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur Northeast
The Wolverines are coached by Cory Meyer and currently looking to extend their 29 game winning streak. Bancroft went 29-0 last season in Class C2, which gives them a ranking or #1 in their division and 3rd in the State behind Bellevue West.
Auburn
Auburn is a part of the C1 district with an impressive last season record of 29-0, putting them in first place in their league. Ranked 4th in Nebraska, the Bulldogs are coached by Jim Weeks, who is looking to have another phenomenal season with his group of talented student-athletes.
Millard North
The Mustangs are ranked 5th in Nebraska, 2nd in their district, and 38th on a national scale. Lead by Coach Mike Etzelmiller, Millard North is full of division one talent. Runner up in the state championship this previous season, the Mustangs look to win the title and avenge their tragic loss.
Adams Central (Hastings}
With an overall record of 26-2 last season, the Patriots are looking to make another extraordinary championship run. Coached by Zac Foster, Adams Central is #1 in their district and 6th in the state. Fun fact, Hastings is the home of and where Kool-Aid was invented.
Grand Island Central Catholic
Led by Coach Tino Martinez, the Crusaders are eager the get back to Lincoln for another shot at a title. GICC is ranked 1st in their district and 7th overall in Nebraska with a previous record of 25-4 last season. They have an awesome program with a win percentage of 86.20%. Go, Crusaders!
Hastings
The Tigers are 8th overall in Nebraska, 1st in their district, and itching to get back to the state finals. They went 21-4 last season under Coach Mike Simmons. Another talented team out of Hastings, NE. It must be something in the Kool-Aid.
Yutan
Ranked 9th in Nebraska and 1st in C2 District 3, the Chieftains are a tough matchup. They finished with an overall record of 24-4 under Coach Justin Petersen. Yutan is looking to have an even better season this upcoming year.
Omaha Central
Omaha Central has been a Nebraska powerhouse for many decades. Led by one of the most respected high school coaches to ever coach in the state, Eric Behrens, the eagles are starving for another championship. They went 21-4 last season and look to be even better this upcoming season. They have added Denim Johnson Denim Johnson 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2021 State NE to their roster this year so get ready for some outstanding highlights.
