It makes you think…..Are there any players in Michigan high school and prep basketball that we could see in the future on NBA Draft night? I’ll give you 10 juniors that I believe could be drafted someday.
Take a look at our senior edition of this article below:
10 Michigan Seniors That We Could See Drafted Someday
Emoni Bates (SF, Ypsi Prep)
This choice seems incredibly obvious. We’re all pretty much assuming that this will happen. Bates is just that kind of special. Good luck finding a weakness in his game.
Robert Davis Jr. Robert Davis Jr. 6'6" | SG Hamtramck | 2022 State MI (SG, Farmington)
Clutch players have a much better chance of making it to the big time. Davis Jr. is just that. He makes and takes big shots on a consistent basis.
JaVaughn Hannah JaVaughn Hannah 6'4" | SG Orchard Lake St. Mary's | 2022 State #221 Nation MI (SG, Ypsi Prep)
Hannah is an explosive scorer at a high level nationally. I actually think he’s a much higher ceiling prospect than his national rankings allow. I wouldn’t be the slightest bit surprised to see Hannah sporting a suit on draft night.
Dillon Hunter Dillon Hunter 6'4" | PG Ypsi Prep | 2022 #96 Nation KS (PG, Ypsi Prep)
Hunter is a supremely athletic and dynamic guard. He attacks the defense and creates for himself and his teammates. Hunter can push into transition with the dribble or the pass. He really fits the mold of a future star and player at all levels.
Treyvon Lewis Treyvon Lewis 6'5" | SF Ferndale | 2022 State MI (SG, Ferndale)
Lewis is rising quickly as a prospect, and deservedly so. He’s a menace for opponents when attacking off the wing. If Lewis’ current rise continues at this pace, it could end in the NBA Draft.
Orlando Lovejoy Orlando Lovejoy 6'3" | CG 1 of 1 Prep | 2022 State NC (PG, Romulus Summit)
I’ve been a huge fan of Lovejoy’s game since the minute he walked into high school. He’s a nasty ball handler that can twist and turn his defender. Don’t put anything past this young man.
Shawn Phillips (C, Ypsi Prep)
Phillips is an athletic and bouncy post player. There aren’t many true centers in the country with more upside than this young man. The sky is the limit for a big with the skills and athletic gifts that Phillips carries.
Ty Rodgers Ty Rodgers 6'6" | SF Grand Blanc | 2022 #34 Nation IN (SF, Grand Blanc)
Rodgers is creating a legacy for himself, not just at Grand Blanc, but state wide. Honestly, he deserves even more national attention as a prospect. I’m going to predict it now – Rodgers will need to find a tailor when he’s done with college ball.
Kareem Rozier (PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
One thing is for sure, Rozier won’t be outworked in the quest to reach the highest level. He’s a dog on the court and creates nightmares for opponents. Rozier deserves everything he accomplishes in the game of basketball.
Kyler Vanderjagt Kyler Vanderjagt 6'4" | 195 lbs | SF Northview | 2022 State MI (SG, Northview)
I’ll admit, I hope he makes it. Vanderjagt would be a great representation of the state of Michigan for the entire country to see. He can score at all 3 levels and is a very strong and physical player.
