Logan Arndt Logan Arndt 6'2" | SG Oconomowoc | 2023 State WI – SG – Oconomowoc
You just almost never see this kid have a bad stretch. Cementing his spot as a top 25 prospect in the state, Arndt was clearly one of the best players in attendance. The Oconomowoc standout brings constant energy on both ends of the floor. He’ll defend the heck out of people and is one of the best shot blocking guards in his class. Offensively, Arndt is a natural scorer. He’s got a great feel from all three levels and some advanced shot-creating ability for his age. Among sophomores poised to break out in 2020-21, Arndt is towards the top of our list.
Seth Bunders Seth Bunders 6'1" | CG Wauzeka-Steuben | 2023 State WI – G – Almond-Bancroft
Bunders definitely doesn’t strike fear into people with his physical makeup. Definitely a very raw prospect with a lot of growing left to do, Bunders will catch opponents by surprise if they underestimate him. The sophomore guard can flat out play and is a unique talent in this class. A flashy passer and playmaker, Bunders turned a lot of heads on Sunday. Able to play either guard spot, Bunders can shoot off the ball, break down defenders off the dribble-drive, and really works well when he’s controlling the game.
Ethan Heck Ethan Heck 6'5" | SG West Depere | 2023 State WI – SG – West De Pere
Love the size and shooting ability from all three levels. The 6-foot-4 sniper can rise and fire over defenders with ease. Heck can score off-balance, shoot off the dribble, or come off screens and let it fly. Give his size and ability to knock down shots all over the floor, Heck is going to be a difficult matchup over the next three years. He’s also pretty athletic as well. When he gets the rock in transition, Heck can play above the rim.
Matt Kirk – W – Milton
Every year, a couple unranked prospects show up to this event and get themselves noticed. Among that group, Kirk probably made the most noise. A skilled wing can really put the ball on the deck and score going to the rim. The 6-foot-3 sophomore can space the floor from the outside, handle the ball and get coast-to-coast in transition, and has some added length to take on defenders at the rim.
Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI – G – Neenah
This is a guard with a killer instinct. Klesmit has unlimited range as a 3-point shooter, explosive handles on the ball, and just doesn’t have an off-switch. A top 10 prospect in the 2023 class, Klesmit is a high volume scorer, but certainly isn’t limited to just putting the ball in the hole. Over the summer, Klesmit proved he can handle the point duties. Klesmit sees the floor well and can beat defenses with the pass. After spending most of last season with Neenah’s JV, Klesmit could certainly start for the Rockets in year two and be one of the better guards in the Fox Valley Association.
Arhman Lewis Arhman Lewis 5'9" | PG Madiosn Laffollette | 2023 State WI – PG – Madison La Follette
Just give Lewis the ball and get out of the way. Lewis has the potential to be one of the biggest surprises in the Big Eight Conference this season, although he certainly won’t sneak up on those who have seen him this off-season. An electrifying, uptempo playmaker, Lewis constantly pushes the pace and makes plays for his teammates. Lewis has that rare ability to see things opening up before they actually happen and was dropping serious dimes throughout the day. In the halfcourt, Lewis can be effective as well. He’s got in-the-gym range as a shooter and is fearless when attacking the rim.
Trent Mullen Trent Mullen 5'11" | PG Appleton North | 2023 State WI – PG – Appleton North
One of the players that helped his ranking the most, Mullen was outstanding on Sunday. We may wait to see more of his sophomore season, but Mullen may end up jumping 20 or more spots after what he did on Sunday. The Appleton North product showed advanced scoring ability on the ball – utilizing change of pace, direction, and hesitation to score the ball. Mullen was very effective in the pick n’ roll, turning the corner with a purpose and drawing help defenders or using a delay dribbles to freeze the defense and then make his move. He also shot the ball really well throughout the day, hit driving lanes when they were available, and took contact at the rim well.
Seth Miron Seth Miron 6'4" | SF Kimberly | 2023 State WI – SF – Kimberly
Another prospect that’s probably ranked too low right now, Miron has a ton of tools to be an elite scorer in this 2023 class. He’s a lanky 6-foot-4 wing with some of the best skill on the ball at his position. Miron has surprisingly tight handles for his size, can play low to the ground, and is very quick and decisive when it comes to creating his own shot. We knew Miron could shoot it from the outside, but showed some vast improvement and getting into the 15-18 foot range and hitting shots with a hand in his face. Probably didn’t finish at the rim as well as he would have liked, but the three-level scoring ability is there.
Alex Sherwood Alex Sherwood 6'4" | SF Xavier | 2023 State WI – SF – Xavier
Sherwood ended the summer very strong and appears to have built on that. The 6-foot-5 wing is playing with a ton of confidence right now. Sherwood is a pure shot maker who can size up his defenders and go to work. He looks the part too with a long, athletic build that should contribute to a high upside. Also a standout defender, Sherwood has the lateral quickness to stick with people on the perimeter and the length to protect the rim or hold up 1-on-1 in the post.
Kaden Osterman – SG – Pewaukee
Another unranked prospect that grabbed our attention, Osterman shot the ball as well as anyone on Sunday. He was drilling 3’s at a high rate and it was rare to see him miss a couple in a row. Osterman impressed with his shooting ability on the move. Even if he wasn’t facing the rim on the catch, he was fluid and squaring his shoulders and getting off the ground in an easy-going motion. Pewaukee has a ton of talent in their junior through freshman classes, so Osterman’s impact may be limited next season, but if he continues to shoot the ball this well, the Pirates can probably find a spot for him in the rotation.
Jamisen Young Jamisen Young 6'0" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2023 KS – PG – Kenosha Bradford
Young was one of the top two-way players at the event. He’s a speedy guard who uses that burst on both ends of the floor. Young was all over people defensively, challenging them the whole way up the floor and pouncing on their mistakes. Offensively, Young is very smooth on the ball. He can play fast without being in a hurry. That was definitely evident in his mid-range scoring ability. He can blow-by defenders, stop on a dime, wait for them to go past, and then rise up for his shot.
Cameron Werner – PF – Racine Case
Really like this post prospect and think he’s got a good future. At 6-foot-5, Werner plays much bigger than that. He’s got some added length, mobility, and versatility that make him a tough matchup. Werner has a very soft touch and nice footwork down on the block. He can step away from the rim and shoot the ball. Werner also shows some ability to put it on the deck and attack off the bounce. He’s a factor in transition as well. Werner will bust his butt up and down the floor to stop transition breaks or get easy buckets himself.
