Today, we put together our list of the best guards we saw on the day.
Jayvion Jackson – 5’11 PG 2023 – Mt. Vernon-Fortville (IN)
Jayvion is a tough lead guard with a ton of strength. Will over-dribble at times but can get in the lane and drive to create. When he plays under control, he’s got a great chance to make a play as a passer. For his age, like where his body could go and how he could really develop into a bully of a guard.

Drew continues to impress as an all around point guard. He’s a guy that doesn’t get sped up and doesn’t make many if any mistakes. He is also creative enough with his scoring that it should translate really well even though he doesn’t have a ton of height. He’s the type of guard that is going to give you a chance to put up a ton of points as a team because of his control and vision.
Jordan Lomax – 6’0 PG 2024 – Avon (IN)
Jordan is obviously a very young prospect but an intruiging one. He’s got great size and length and will defintely still grow and a lot by the looks of it. He was great with his use of his length on the floor. Has the handles to play as a guard with some creation ability that should really come into play sooner rather than later. Will likely be one of the top players in 2024 early on.

Myles was the most impressive player I watched on the day. He’s a big, strong guard with a ton of scoring ability and with the way his jumper is going, he’s going to put up a ton of points. He’s a really talented ball handler and while he might be more of an off-guard, teams could see him on the point if they need his type of mentality on the ball. He’s attacking the ball more and more every time I see him play and the progression of his development is moving really quickly.

– 6’1 SG 2023 – Park Tudor (IN)
Ruffin is a really strong, tough guard who looks more of the part of a backcourt guard than a year ago. His ball handling has improved and he’s to the point where he should be able to really create at a decent clip. Defensively he could be really intruiging as he could defend 1-3 for his age and if he gets more size that would be pretty huge.

Jordan is a big lead guard with some speed and size. He’s a guy that is going to be good so long as he looks to go north and south. He’s decent in the lane, slipping defenders on the way. At times he can slow down and try and make bigger plays but if he would make defenders keep up with him and try and stop him, he would likely see a big jump in production. He’s got a lot of upside still to see in a few years.

– 6’1 PG 2022 – Fishers (IN)
Charlie is one of the better guards in the 2022 class. He was so tough at the 250. His ability to handle the ball looks adequate to play on the point but his strength is what is going to make him excel. He’s nearly impossible to stop in the lane when he gets a head of steam. He’s not got a really quick first step but he has a ton of top end speed that plays well in the transition game.

– 6’0 PG 2022 – Harrison (IN)
Jonah looks improved over the last year. Has added some height and some strength. He’s finishing plays more often with the added strength. Want to see his offense take a step forward but has the speed and the north and south. When the perimeter jumper really locks in and becomes a bigger weapon, we could see his stock jump up.
Landen Johnston – 6’1 SG 2021 – Chesterton (IN)
Landen was an interesting player this weekend as he impressed with a ton of energy. He’s got some athleticism and strength and while he’s more of an off-ball guy he should really have the ability to be an impact player this season at Chesterton. He’s the type of guard that has some flexibility defensively and you will find a way to get minutes because he will raise the level of players around him.

– 6’3 PG 2022 – Indianapolis Pike (IN)
Ryan is a really intruiging guard as a taller prospect that could play on or off the ball. Where Ryan excels is with his ability to create while still being a solid passer but then can flip it and step back and shoot at an improved rate. He’s got the ability to be more ball dominant and take over games more with his scoring and should get there soon. If he can take all of those wide-ranging skills and pack more into a single game, he will draw the eye of a ton more college programs.
