Hayden Llewellyn Hayden Llewellyn 6'2" | CG Corbin | 2023 State KY , Corbin – The first time Hayden has gotten to play in a camp that was mostly Kentucky kids since he transferred into Corbin was a little up and down. He had stretches where he looked elite and others were he was more passive on a team full of guards. The one thing that is undeniable is that Llewellyn is incredibly athletic. He is not afraid to raise up and try to dunk on defenders who get in the way. Definitely a player to track as he should have a big season in the 13th region.
Bradin Nelson Bradin Nelson 6'3" | PG Webster County | 2023 State KY , Webster County – Another player who was a little hurt at times by having a lot of guards on his team, when Nelson played with the ball in his hands he was able to show what he can do. In the last game of the day, Bradin threw down a dunk in traffic that was impressive. One of the better young players in Western Kentucky, Bradin should have a huge role with Webster County this year.
Nick Spalding Nick Spalding 6'0" | PG Paul Laurence Dunbar | 2023 State KY , Dunbar – The first thing I noticed about Nick was that he’s grown 2-3 inches since I last saw him in February. His game was still as sharp as it was in the winter though. Spalding is a skilled point guard who can also play off the ball as a really good shooter. Dunbar has a really solid 2022 class but it will likely be the Sophomore guard who leads them this season.
Hudson Sparks Hudson Sparks 6'5" | SF Lexington Catholic | 2023 State KY , Lexington Catholic – This was my first time seeing Sparks and I came away impressed. He’s got a chance to be really good and a very solid contributor as a Sophomore at Catholic this season. Hudson is long at 6’4 and looks like he’s going to keep growing at least a couple more inches. Sparks showed the ability to shoot from 3 and also put the ball on the floor comfortably. Definitely a player to track this season.
Elijah Decker Elijah Decker 6'5" | SF Ohio County | 2024 State KY , Ohio County – Decker has grown to 6’5 and showed really good bounce with several emphatic dunks over the course of the day. Known primarily as a shooter in the 3rd region, Elijah showed more ability to attack off the wing and finish. Unfortunately, Decker had to guard the post most of the day so I couldn’t gauge how well he guards but offensively, he will be a handful for every Ohio County opponent.
Trent Noah Trent Noah 6'7" | SF Harlan County | 2024 State #139 Nation KY , Harlan County – Noah is a young player I saw quite a bit last summer but hadn’t seen in 2020. He’s grown a couple inches and thinned out. More importantly, Noah looks more athletic than the last time I saw him. Super skilled, Noah can play any spot on offense and guard multiple positions on defense. He was one of the most impressive players in the entire camp on Sunday and he’s only a Freshman.
