This year we will see a lot of the same teams towards the top. The difference might really be what team is clicking at the right time and what team has the best chemistry. We were able to see a few teams play very well and exceed their potential because of their team chemistry. There are some solid college prospects that play the guard position in 4A and a few amazing bigs as well.
Best players to watch in 4A are:
6’7 SF Dallin Grant Dallin Grant 6'8" | SF Cedar City | 2021 State #212 Nation UT (Cedar City)
Dallin has committed to play basketball at Utah State and he had a stellar off-season. Although he can play with his back to the basket he ca really be a threat everywhere else. Look for him to hit more 3’s than he has in the past.
6’9 SF Lyman Simmons Lyman Simmons 6'10" | PF RSL Academy | 2023 State UT (Snow Canyon)
Lyman has the most upside and is rated the #1 player in the Class of 2023. He has added so much to his game which will make him a tough cover. Look for Lyman to really make a jump entering his sophomore season.
6’5 PG Isaac Finlinson Isaac Finlinson 6'6" | CG Dixie | 2021 State UT (Dixie)
Don’t be surprised if this kid ends up on a D1 roster as he has major IQ and game to match his intelligence on the court. Isaac has an unselfish game and he makes other around him better with his ability to create for others.
6’1 SG Kaden Cox Kaden Cox 6'0" | SG Ridgeline | 2022 State UT (Ridgeline)
This kid can flat out shoot. If he gets a good look it’s going in. Kaden shoots above 50% from deep which makes him and his team dangerous. He’s currently the QB of the football team trying to make a deep playoff run.
6’0 PG Talon Valdes Talon Valdes 6'0" | PG Juan Diego | 2021 State UT (Juan Diego)
This kid has speed and has an elite mid-range game. He can really get going and score in a flury.
6’7 SF Keegan Munson Keegan Munson 6'6" | CG Desert Hills | 2021 State UT (Desert Hills)
Keegan looked like a different player this summer. We are excited to see him play because he was dynamic shooting three’s and getting dunks. He looked a lot more physical and athletic.
6’5 F Justin Rodgers Justin Rodgers 6'5" | SF Toole | 2021 State UT (Tooele)
Justin is a tough athletic kid who has a great motor. He’s undersized for a SF but he can really play anywhere. He attacks the boards on both ends and is often a matchup problem.
