Conference Commentary
League Title Contender – Heritage Christian, Legacy Christian, Lester Prairie, PACT
The Heritage Christian Eagles have a senior class with a goal set on the league title. And with a senior backcourt of Ethan Virshek and Steph Sawtelle the Eagles have a chance. There are also role players back with Virshek and Sawtelle. Legacy Christian went 24-4 a season ago and they are my pick to win Section 4AAAA this winter. And with that, they are also a top contender to win this league. Legacy has their top four players back although keep in mind Jake Wald Jake Wald 5'11" | PG Legacy Christian Academy | 2021 State MN was hurt last spring or summer and there is of course no certainty on his status. Either way they have the talent to contend. The Bulldogs of Lester Prairie dropped two games to Legacy Christian last year. The Bulldogs lost a pair of starters but have their top guy back and five of their best seven players returning. They are certainly a contender especially with Wald on the sidelines. PACT was 12-16 last year but they have two really good players to build around, especially Jordan Stone Jordan Stone 6'6" | PF PACT Charter | 2021 State MN who is a do everything 6-foot-6 point forward.
Taking a Step – International School/Chesterton Academy, Spectrum, West Lutheran
International School/Chesterton Academy won six games last year but five of their top six return, and many of them were underclassmen a season ago. With experience they should be better. Spectrum was a .500 team last season but they lost two all league starters. That said, with no seniors and a nice junior class, Spectrum has the players to maintain that .500 level and then get ready for a run next season. West Lutheran was a .500 club last year and they lost their top player and half of their rotation. They will have enough to be competitive in the middle of the league.
Up Hill Battle – Eagle Ridge Academy, North Lakes
Eagle Ridge was a seven win team last season and they lost three of their five starters. The LaFavors lead the way but a lot of production has to be replaced from a team that struggled. North Lakes not only won just one game in the league last year, they also lost four of their top five players. With only one senior this is the definition of an uphill climb.
