| Blake Grella Blake Grella 5'11" | SG V.R. Eaton | 2023 TX | Shooting Guard | V.R. Eaton | 2023 |
Blake Grella Blake Grella 5'11" | SG V.R. Eaton | 2023 TX is a shooting marksman with an instinctual playing style, he showed and proved that he can beat guys with his fundamentals along with his IQ. Grella made some really quick moves off the bounce and off the catch, if Blake received the ball the anywhere near the basket he quickly put it back up for an easy layup. His three-point shooting ability is what stood out the most, he was one of the purest shooters in attendance, showing off his deadly spot-up shooting. I wasn’t aware of Blake Grella Blake Grella 5'11" | SG V.R. Eaton | 2023 TX until this past weekend, but it was clear to me after watching him that he’s going to be a prominent name in years to come, especially if he continues to get taller and get better.
| Carron Gibson | Point Guard | Faith Family Academy |
Carron Gibson was one of the youngest players at the combine, this young man showed an abundance of potential and upside, he shined at just about every aspect of the game. Gibson ran the point guard position well, showing great poise, patience, and anticipation when creating for his teammates. He freed himself up with his slick ball skills, his dribble-drive is so smooth, he has this phenomenal ability to penetrate the lane and create for others. I enjoyed watching how Carron used his blow-by speed on screens when turning the corner and getting to the rack, he stays low and attacks the hip of his defender. Gibson was one of the top-performing players out of all the classes during competitive games, it’s going to be great watching him grow and progress throughout the next few years. After talking to Carron Gibson it was clear that he understands what he needs to improve on and what he does best. He’s already been gaining the attention and interest of multiple Divison 1 programs such as the University of North Texas, Texas Tech, and Grambling University. I think it’s safe to say that the future is bright for this kid.
| Tyree Graves | Combo Guard | Dunbar High School | 2023 |
Tyree name buzzed throughout the gym as he lit up his competition with his gutsy playing style. He’s a lengthy guard and he uses that to his advantage, at 6 foot, 2 inches, Graves can get his shot over most defenders with ease. He has an impressive shiftiness to his crossover dribble moves, a good hesitation, and stop and start moves that caught defenders off guard, which then opened up the lane for a layup or gave him space to pull-up and shoot. An unselfish guy, Tyree showed true potential as a playmaker, he was very willing to make the extra pass or set guys for an easy score. Tyree Graves is an extremely high motor player that is always, and I mean relentlessly, looking to make a play at all times, whether it’s a rebound, a block, a steal, a bucket, or an assist, he’s doing his part to make a difference.
