Anthony Sayles Anthony Sayles 6'2" | PG Niles Notre Dame | 2021 State #167 Nation IL (Niles Notre Dame)
The top point guard in Illinois picked up his first offer in a while this past week courtesy of Toledo. They have been monitoring him for a while, but finally jumped in with an offer. Sayles is an explosive guard that gets to the rim and has greatly improved as a shooter.
Amar Augillard Amar Augillard 6'5" | SF Zion Benton | 2021 FL (Zion Benton)
Augillard is a physical combo forward that can stretch the floor with his shooting, dominate the glass, and score in transition. This week he landed an offer from Western Illinois. WIU joins Chicago State, Grambling State, and Wisconsin-Green Bay as the schools that have extended offers. He also tells us two other schools are picking up the interest level, “I picked up some new interest from Tennessee State and Indiana State.”
Tommie Williams Tommie Williams 6'3" | SG Belleville West | 2021 State IL (Belleville West)
Williams is a two way guard that first made his name on the Maroons state title team a couple years back. This week he secured a scholarship offer from D2 Quincy. He tells PHI the other main school involved at this point is Drury.
David Granger David Granger 6'6" | PF Collinsville | 2021 State IL (East St. Louis)
Granger is a power forward that flashed last season for Collinsville and will be making the move over to play for the Flyers this season. He says the schools he is actively hearing from include Lincoln Trail, Clarke University, and Elmhurst.
Luke Morrow Luke Morrow 6'7" | PF Joliet West | 2021 State IL (Joliet West)
Morrow had a breakout summer with the Illinois T-Wolves showcasing his long distance shooting and rebounding. The senior told us that Elmhurst is heavily recruiting him and he has visited their school. Also has a scheduled visit to Illinois College on October 17.
Connor Jenkins Connor Jenkins 6'7" | SF Lincoln Way West | 2021 State IL (Lincoln Way West)
At 6’7” this small forward can really shoot the rock from three which has intrigued quite a few schools at the D2 level. He has visited Quincy, Truman State, and Wayne State already. Holds offers from Wayne State and Quincy.
Kyonte Thomas Kyonte Thomas 5'10" | PG Bolingbrook | 2021 State IL (Bolingbrook)
Thomas is one of the most tenacious defenders in the state and a pest at the point of attack. We spoke with his high school coach Robert Brost who told us that the schools recruiting him the hardest are Trinity International, Midland, St. Francis, Missouri-St. Louis, and a host of D3 programs.
Trey Baker Trey Baker 5'8" | PG Mundelein | 2021 State IL (Mundelein)
Baker is a sleeper with the way he can be a microwave scorer from the point guard position. On his recruitment he said, “Right now I’ve had interest from Holy Cross, Johns Hopkins has had some serious interest and moving along with the process with them. University of Chicago, Haverford College, Maryville University in St. Louis, and University of California San Diego. I’ve heard from a variety of divisions and for me it’s about deciding on that college that I’ll have an impact on right away on the court and that has top notch academics.”
JT Welch JT Welch 5'9" | PG Bloomington Central Catholic | 2021 State IL (Bloomington Central Catholic)
Welch is a skilled lead guard from central Illinois that has been busy! “I’ve been on visits to Judson, Loras, Illinois Wesleyan, and Millikin. I have received an offer from Judson which is a NAIA. I have recently been talking to Carthage College and have a visit set up there for October 24th. I have also just started talking with Missouri Baptist University.”
