Ashe Oglesby Ashe Oglesby 6'6" | PF The Prairie School | 2023 State WI — 6-foot-6 — The Prairie School
Playing up at the 17U level this summer, I saw a lot of good things from Oglesby. Of course, he had moments where he struggled, but for the most part, he was impressive. The power forward did a good job of snatching rebounds and scoring when he had the opportunity to do so. I think that he still has some developing to do on the perimeter, however, Oglesby can still be an effective player by dominating the paint.
Robert Peters Robert Peters 6'8" | PF West Allis Hale | 2023 State WI — 6-foot-7 — West Allis Hale
It might be too high of praise, but I think that Peeters could have one of the highest upsides out of all the prospects in Wisconsin’s 2023 class. The power forward stands at 6-foot-7 and has tremendous length. His skills need to be polished up, but I do know that he can become a really good player down the road. His physical tools check off all of the boxes.
Simeon Murchison Simeon Murchison 6'9" | PF Milwaukee Bay View | 2023 State WI — 6-foot-8 — Milwaukee Bay View
At this point in his young career, Murchison looks like he could eventually find himself on scholarship for a top college basketball team. The power forward has great measurables, but also skills to match. In his freshman season, Murchison knocked down 21 threes while doing some great things around the hoop. I think that he could make a case for becoming the state’s top power forward when it is all said and done.
Ethan Thomas Ethan Thomas 6'7" | PF Whitnall | 2023 State WI — 6-foot-7 — Greenfield
Thomas was not overly productive as a scorer during his freshman season at Greenfield but he did make a big impact on defense. He was able to use his long arms and good size to protect the paint and block shots. On offense, he can use his strength to bully smaller defenders. If Thomas is able to add new elements to his game, then he will become a very attractive prospect for college programs.
Danny Kniep Danny Kniep 6'5" | PF Burlington | 2023 WI — 6-foot-5 — Burlington
Playing for a really deep JH1 Elite squad on the Prep Hoops Circuit, I thought that Kniep did a great job of making his impact felt in all aspects of the game. He can score when his team needs him to, but the power forward likes to do a lot of the little things to help his team. As a freshman, Kniep averaged 6.6 rebounds and was a player that other coaches were forced to gameplan for.
Michael Asman Michael Asman 6'7" | PF Kimberly | 2023 WI — 6-foot-6 — Kimberly
Asman still has a long way to go in his development. But this does not mean that he fails to be an effective player in the present moment. The 6-foot-6 power forward has rapidly improving perimeter skills, as he shoots the ball very well from behind the arc. He also is able to put the ball on the deck and dribble when he needs to. Expect Asman to continue to get better as his high school career goes on.
