The sold out event was a huge success featuring hundreds of potential college basketball players. I will name a class of 2024 Most Outstanding Player and Honorable Mentions from the event. Keep in mind, it’s impossible for me to see every moment, of every athlete, in every game played. This is strictly relegated to what I witnessed and some input from coaches.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Darion Johnson (6-8, F/C, Madison Heights Lamphere)
Johnson is a prospect to keep your eyes on for the next few years. He didn’t just sit in the paint and wait for the game to come to him. Johnson came out high and set solid screens for his guards. He rolled off those screens ready for the ball to come his way. Johnson was active on the glass, especially on the defensive end.
Jacob Tuttle (6-0, G, Notre Dame Prep)
Tuttle definitely made a statement on Sunday in Grand Rapids. He played aggressively on offense, not a bit intimidated by the upperclassmen. Tuttle pounded the ball on the floor, lulled his defender to sleep, and used a quick first step to get them on his hip. Tuttle was able to finish at the rim effectively as well. He went straight up through bigger defenders and handled contact.
MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER
Christian Humphrey-Rembert (6-7, F, East Kentwood)
Humphrey-Rembert is stacked full of potential. He has the height and versatility to be a special prospect. As he fills out and adds muscle, he’ll be an even bigger force on both ends. He’ll be able to simply dominate shorter opponents and blow by bigger defenders. Humphrey-Rembert effectively uses his length and athleticism.
