I will name a class of 2021 Most Outstanding Player and Honorable Mentions from the event. Keep in mind, it’s impossible for me to see every moment, of every athlete, in every game played. This is strictly relegated to what I witnessed and some input from coaches.
Take a look at our other MOP’s below:

HONORABLE MENTIONS
Logan Carson Logan Carson 6'9" | PF Buchanan | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-9, F, Buchanan)
There wasn’t a post player in Grand Rapids with a higher ceiling than Logan Carson Logan Carson 6'9" | PF Buchanan | 2021 State MI . He can attack the rim from the high post and will battle in the paint for position.
Trinidad Chambliss Trinidad Chambliss 6'2" | PG Forest Hills Northern | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-1, G, Forest Hills Northern)
Chambliss is just another level type of athlete. His speed and first step are just quicker than most. Chambliss can start and stop on a dime and leave defenders grasping.
D’Anthony Hamilton D’Anthony Hamilton 6'4" | SF Troy | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-4, G, Troy)
I really liked what Hamilton brought to the table Sunday in Grand Rapids. His game was smooth and he showed excellent body control when going to the rim.
Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'1" | PG L'anse Creuse North | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-1, G, L’Anse Creuse North)
Johnson shows up to play in big moments and he did it again at the Top 250. He showed that he can play on or off the ball all through grassroots season, but on Sunday, his point guard skills shined through. He set his squad and hit open teammates with spped and precision.
Kentrell Pullian Kentrell Pullian 6'0" | CG Benton Harbor | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-0, G, Benton Harbor)
Pullian basically makes the ball disappear on the dribble. The defense basically has to guess which way he’s going. You heard it here: Pullian is going to blow up this high school season.
Jonmarcus Roland (2021, 6-2, G, UD Jesuit)
Roland is a really impressive prospect and his game will transfer nicely to the next level. As a 2 way player, he’s hard to take off the floor.
Aidan Rubio Aidan Rubio 6'6" | SF Goodrich | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-6, G/F, Goodrich)
Rubio was simply awesome at the Top 250. Like, kid we should be watching on TV in a couple years good. He told me he’d dominate, and he did. Rubio made the rims suffer all night in Grand Rapids.
Jahlani Thornton Jahlani Thornton 6'5" | PF DEPSA | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-6, F, Detroit Edison)
Thornton was one of the better pure athletes in the gym on Sunday. He excelled in transiton, where he consistently made plays in the open floor.
Bryan Tyler Bryan Tyler 5'9" | PG Westland John Glenn | 2021 State MI (2021, 5-10, G, Westland John Glenn)
College coaches…please watch this young man play. He’s always been tricky with the ball, handling like a pro and passing like a wizard. Now he’s added a scoring acumen where he finishes creatively at the rim.
MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER
Keyon Menifield Keyon Menifield 6'2" | PG Flint Beecher | 2021 State MI Jr. (6-2, G, Flint Beecher)
Menifield Jr. should start being looked at with potential Mr. Basketball candidates. He went off for 18 points in the first 12 minutes of action, and he never slowed down. Menifield could create what he wanted, whenever he wanted it offensively. He found looks through the flow of the game as well as by breaking down defenders off the dribble. Menifield was a precision passer, hitting teammates with lobs on a regular basis. Don’t forget his defense as well. His quick feet and wide reach created a lot of deflections in the passing lanes.
