The competition at this event was the highest it has been and was an impressive showcase of all of the talent in the great state of Texas. Be on the lookout for the rest of my content, as I thoroughly cover this event.
Antonio Pavia 2021 South Oak Cliff High School
Antonio Is a creative passer who knows when to correctly use an overhead pass versus a bounce pass. He smartly breaks full court pressure and can set up his teammates well on a fast break. On the defensive side of the ball, he has active hands allowing him to intercept passes and poke the ball free from ball handlers. He is a highly skilled ball handler and can break down his opponents with ease. He has true point guard instincts and can facilitate with the best of them.
Zion Jones 2021
Zion is an intelligent combo guard who sees the floor well. His passes always seem to be right on the money and put his teammates into great positions to succeed. He is flashy and crafty with his passes, sometimes looking off his targets to keep the defense off guard. He runs the floor well sticking to the right lane and spacing the floor to give his teammates options on the fast break.
Jaylon Frazier-Collins Jaylon Frazier-Collins 6'3" | SG DeSoto | 2021 TX 2021 Desoto High School
Jaylon is an impressive scorer at the wing position. He is a crafty finisher in the lane and knows how to contort his body around defenders, even bigger competition. He has a smooth jumper and no wasted motion in his jump shot, even off the bounce. He is athletic and quick footed allowing him to blow by defenders. I was really impressed with the real three level scoring ability he had. I would like to see him work on his ability to defend on the ball.
Nolan Sims 2021
Nolan is an impressive shooter; he is confident and needs to be covered almost as soon as he crosses half court. I was blown away by the speed in which he got his shot up and could shoot over the top of anyone. He is deadly if you give him enough space for him to square his shoulders. He is not only a shooter however; he is ferocious when attacking the rim and willingly invites contact. He is aggressive on the defensive side of the floor and loves to play the passing lanes. He is an above average on ball defender at the guard position. I would like to see him develop as a playmaker within the half court, which should not be difficult with his ability to pass the ball in the full court.
