The competition at this event was the highest it has been and was an impressive showcase of all of the talent in the great state of Texas. Be on the lookout for the rest of my content, as I thoroughly cover this event.
Joshua Grimes 2021 Holy Cross
Joshua is an impressive sharp shooting guard who can shoot off the dribble, off the catch and seemingly in all areas of the court. I was blown away by his shot making ability all around the floor, and in so many different ways. I would like to see him work on taking defenders off the bounce and finishing around the rim. He has long arms and plays with a real confidence and swagger, so attacking the defense with intensity should not be too difficult for him to incorporate.
Mike Prather 2021 Little Elm High School
Mike is an intense on ball defender who is great at timing his reaches and tying up defenders. His presence made his opponents very uncomfortable and forced them into rushed shots and silly turnovers. He is a special ball handler who can create well for his teammates. He is especially deadly in the pick and roll where he seemed to dice up the defense n matter what coverages were thrown at him. He is great at scoring off the dribble at all three levels of the offense and is a deadly facilitator when he drives into the paint. Prather is a patient offensive weapon who only seems to get better every time I have seen him play.
Jalen Craddock 2021 Braswell High School
Jalen is a confident scorer in the midrange and the lane. He has a soft touch on his floater and runner that he loves to get to in the paint. He even has some impressive post moves that are highly effective as he fades away and hangs in the air. Defenders rarely have enough leaping ability to keep up with him when he rises up to shoot over the top of them. He is great at utilizing hop steps and euro steps to leap into space and around defenders. I would like to see him develop as a real shooter off the bounce from three point range to become an elite three level scorer.
Elijah McBath 2021 6’0 Denton Ryan High School
Elijah is a very skilled ball handler and slasher. His large frame and aggressiveness lead to a lot of easy buckets in the paint. He is an elite finisher and thrives at drawing contact and exploding through defenders. He is great on either side of the rim but loves to finish with his right hand. I would like to see him work on his off hand finishing and ball handling, and continue to develop as a spot up shooter. He has all the skills to be an effective slash and kick point guard at the next level.
