This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Cameron Riggins-Brown 2025 6’2 Central Middle School
Cameron is an impressive player who towers over his competition. He finishes with ease around the rim and has the soft touch to space the floor from the corners and the midrange. He seems to swallow up every rebound on the defensive side of the ball. I would like to see him work on keeping the ball up high under the basket, too many times he gives smaller defenders a chance at the basketball by putting it below his knees. This is something that is not uncommon to see at this age; this message is for all big men: DO THE MIKAN DRILL. Riggins- Brown has all the tools to be a dominant player at the next level, and I cannot wait to see the kind of player he grows into.
Kayden Oakland 5’8 2026 Northfield High School
Kayden is an impressive stretch forward; he is a great rebounder who goes up every time thinking that it is his ball. He comes up with a lot of extra opportunities on the offensive glass, and smartly outlets the ball after a defensive rebound to set up his team. He loves to space the floor and shoot the rock and is an above average shooter in the corners. His long arms allow him to shoot over seemingly anyone. I would like to see him work on the defensive side of the ball, if he can become a better on ball defender, he has real potential to play at the next level.
Ben Koch 2027 5’0 East Ridge High School
Ben is an aggressive guard who is a fantastic rebounder for his size. His ability to beat his opponents off the dribble really stood out this weekend. He is intelligent in using screens and getting to the rim. His intelligence also stood out as he got defenders to bite by pretending to fall asleep and exploding to the front of the rim for easy inbound opportunities. He was deadly when they attempted to switch on the pick and roll, getting bucket after bucket. He is an impressive leaper who loves to finish around the rim. I would like to see him work on keeping his head up and looking for others, his aggressiveness and scoring ability will make him a coveted asset at the next level.
Jaeden Udean 2027 5’7 Columbia Academy
Jaeden is an athletic and lanky player with great potential. He is quick footed and aggressive on both ends of the floor. He had a play where he bit and jumped at two pump fakes and still managed to stay in front of his opponent and block the shot at the rim. I was blown away with his athletic ability, he has all the tools to be a “three and D” type player. He is a great help defender and knows how to rob passes in the passing lane. I would like to see him work on his ability to handle the basketball and create for others. He might not be used as a primary ball handler over these next few years, as he is an intelligent screener and an above average finisher at the rim, but he needs to keep developing in all areas of his game.
