This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Jake Schultz 2025 5’6 Delano High School
Jake is a sharpshooting guard with no fear in his body. He is an active shooter who can put the ball on the floor, but his main offensive ability lies within spacing the floor and being a reliable kick out option. I would like to see him develop as a more complete offense weapon, creating for his teammates and being able to initiate offense for his team.
Drew Mertens 2026 5’8 Redeemer Lutheran
Drew is a tall player who has the confidence and range to stretch the floor. His ability to knock down open shots from range forced the opposing bigs to come out and contest him. This allowed his teammates to freely attack the rim and put pressure on the defense. He has all the tools to be successful at the next level and I am excited to see how he grows into his frame and his game. I would like to see more confidence in his ball handling ability and work on beating defenders off the bounce.
Owen Tuffto 2027 5’4 Twin Oaks Prior Lake
Owen Tufto is a crafty point guard who always seems to make the right pass. His passes are crisp and on target every single time, and his teammates often knock them down at a higher clip after his passes. I was very impressed with his ability to control tempo and create offense for others. I would like to see him work on his finishing ability over taller defenders and shooting off the dribble. If he can open up his game and become a three level scorer, he will become an impressive player as he develops.
Jackson Daly 2027 4’9 John Marshall High School
Jackson is a quick footed guard with good potential. He is a good passer of the basketball and knows how to move without the ball to create opportunities for his teammates. I would like to see him work on his defensive game and staying locked in on every possession. He had a few steals that he was able to quickly turn into fast break opportunities but needs to learn how to smartly gamble on defense.
Max Epple 2027 5’0 Chaska High School
Max is a scrappy guard who plays hard defense and loves to pick off passes in the passing lane. He is great at moving without the basketball and spacing for his teammates. He is intelligent into moving into open space around the arc and in the lane. I would like to see him be more confident with the basketball, especially when driving and taking on stronger defenders.
