This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Azayah Washington 2025 5’8 North Jr. High
Azayah is a long lanky ball handler who can initiate offense and attack the basket. He is an elite finisher around the rim and is great at contorting his body to avoid contact. He has great leaping ability and already seems to be almost eye level with the rim. He is an elite finisher on the fast break and has all the tools to create instant offense for his teammates. I would like to see him improve his motor. He is too skilled and draws too much attention on the offensive side of the floor to be laxed and disengaged when he doesn’t have the ball. I would also like to see continued development with his ball handling ability and keeping his head up to create for his teammates.
Namarion Fields 2025 5’7 North Jr. High
Namarion is a tall wing who gets great height on his jump shot, he seems to hang in the air when he leaps. That skill is very coveted at the next level, and his overall athleticism should grab college coach’s attention. He is very agile for his size, and can seemingly stay in front of guards, wings and bigs. He has a soft touch in the paint and even has a floater that he can use to shoot over larger defenders. I would like to see him work on his range, even in the midrange and ball handling ability in the full court.
Nathan Rock 2025 6’0 Central Middle School
Nathan is a taller wing/ forward who moves well for his size. He has good defensive instincts and rebounds the ball well. He even displayed an ability to push the fast break after a rebound of his own and kept his head up to fire passes to open teammates. He has active hands and feet allowing him to come up with many steals and blocks, as well as allowing him to run the floor with ease.
Billy Demars 2025 5’10 Hidden Oaks Middle School (Prior Lake High School)
Billy is an athletic wing who plays hard every second that he is on the floor. His constant energy resulted in steals by actively playing the passing lanes, and made his opponents uncomfortable when he got under their shirt. I was impressed with his ability to go coast to coast and draw contact around the rim. He is a reliable free throw shooter which should allow him to develop into a good shooter from deep. I would like to see him work on his ability to shoot off the dribble, especially from range.
Jaleel Donely 2025
Jaleel is a lanky wing with great potential, he seems to see the floor well and make accurate passes and the right reads to set up his teammates for easy buckets. He is an active rebounder who comes up with extra possessions on the offensive side of the ball. He is great at attacking the rim and as a lefty, his layups seem smooth and often catch his opponents off guard. He has all the tools to be an impressive creator for himself and his teammates.
