This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Kyler Pust 2026 5’9 Jackson Middle School
Kyler is an intelligent player who is great at getting to the free throw line and finishing in traffic. His leaping ability is second to none and allowed him to have some creative finishes around the rim. I was very impressed with his stable jump shot with good height, allowing him to shoot over longer defenders. If he continues to grow he has a real chance to be an effective three and D type wing, one who thrives at getting to the rim as well as punishing them from behind the arc.
Geno Ward 2027 5’4 Shakopee East Middle School (Shakopee High School)
Geno is an intelligent big who is great at clearing the glass and getting rebounds for is teammates as a result of his hard work on the glass. His ability to seal defenders to create driving lanes for his team and himself. He has an array of post moves that he can efficiently score with around the rim. I would like to see continued development with his off hand around the rim and his ball handling ability. He can become an effective player who utilizes his size and frame to bully defenders off the ball and finish with ease around the rim.
Eli Herzog 2027 5’2 Shakopee East Middle School (Shakopee High School)
Eli is a quick player who has great foot speed and an ability to turn defense into offense. He is great at turning long rebounds and steals into layups at the other end. I loved seeing him put defenses on their heels and he caught his opponents by surprise when he first began to fly by them. I would like to see him work on being a more reliable shooter off the bounce, he is always moving so fast on his pull up his body drifts one way in the air and does not allow him to square up all the way. He already has an ability to make shots off the dribble, especially showing some floaters and tough finishes in the paint.
Mayon Dixon 2026 5’6 Dakota Hills Middle School
Mayon is an intense defender who thrives on wrecking havoc on the court. His intensity and willingness to guard every inch of the court will make him a real player at the next level. His length and ability to finish around the rim was impressive as well. I would like to see continued development with his shot off the dribble and ability to catch and shoot, to become a reliable three and D type player.
