This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Obeng Ochan 2025 6’2 Hopkins Jr High North (Hopkins High School)
Obeng is an impressive force in the paint. His long arms and soft touch in the midrange, free throw line and even behind the arc make him a coveted prospect. I was impressed with his foot speed and willingness to rim run for easy looks but more impressed with his touch outside the paint and ability to stretch the floor and force the opposing bigs to come out to contest him, leaving the paint open for driving lanes for his teammates. He is one to truly keep your eye on he has a chance to be special.
Lucas Gustafson 2025 5’8 Prairie Winds Middle School
Lucas is a quick guard who is confident with his dribble. He knows how to utilize space within a full court offense and can make passes that seem to pick apart defenses. I was very impressed with his playmaking ability and overall feel and confidence he showed on the floor. He never seems to get overwhelmed with overly intense defense, and can calmly break full court pressure with simple passes. I would like to see him work on his finishing ability and get stronger at finishing through contact around the rim, especially off the bounce.
Anthony Smith III 2025 5’4 Hopkins High School
Anthony is an athletic wing who is confident in his offensive skills. He has a soft floater he can get to and even a nice pull up midrange jumper. He is fearless when he attacks the rim and is a complete offensive weapon. His game is very refined for such a young age and he has a multitude of moves he can comfortably get to. I would like to see him work on his outside shot from deep, especially off the catch. With his handle and ability to finish in traffic and over defenders, a deadly shot off the catch would take his game to the next level.
Carter Arnlund 2025 5’9 (STMA)
Carter is an athletic player who plays engaged on ball defense and plays with real intensity and prides himself as being a ball stopping defender. His ability to take his opposition out of their game and mentally disrupt even the best ball handlers. I would like to see more work on the offensive end, especially spotting up in the corners. From there work on things out of the triple threat, with his explosiveness it should not be long before he becomes a coveted offensive weapon if he can work on his footwork on offense.
