This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Gavin Scott 2024 5’8 Shakopee High School
Gavin is an athletic wing who is an impressive shooter off the catch. He is explosive out of the triple threat and can blow by defenders if they close out too hard on him. His ability to change speeds and keep his defenders on their heels has impressed me both weeks! He has all the tools to be a dominant game changing weapon on the offensive side of the ball. I would like to see more aggression and intensity on the defensive end, as he will be tasked with some tough defensive assignments at the guard/ wing spot.
Braden Petzel 2025 5’9 Prairie Winds/ Mankato East High School
Braden is a good shooting guard who thrives at moving without the ball and knocking down shots with his feet set. He is a real sniper from three-point range already! I was impressed with his intensity and willingness to run around screens and really work to get himself open. I would like to see more aggression and willingness to attack the rim and blow by defenders. He has all the tools to affect the game in a multitude of ways especially destroying defenders around the arc.
Jeremy Forrest 2024 5’8 Chaska High School
Jeremy is a long quick player who uses his great length in his stride to outstep opponents and creatively uses his steps to get around defenders. He is very skilled at drawing contact and getting to the line. He is an aware player who is great at using his defenders over aggression against themselves, enticing his defenders to over commit and put them in bad situations. I would like to see continued development working to become a more efficient shooter off the catch and a live dribble.
Maximus Iversen 2026 5’2 STMA
Maximus is an impressive point guard who loves to set up his teammates with creative passes. His ability to thread the needle and put passes exactly where they need to be helped him and his teammates become much more effective. He is a great at creating offense for his teammates and really knows how to set up his bigs in the paint, wings running the floor and his shooters spotting up. I would like to see more willingness to attack the rim and put more pressure on the defense in that sense, as well as becoming a more efficient shooter off the bounce.
