This has been a great representation of some of the great young talent Minnesota has to offer. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage of this league over the next coming weeks!
Muhammad Saine (Charlotte Hornets #9)
Muhammad is a dominant paint presence. He has a very strong frame and upper body and has a real ability to bully defenders down low in the paint. He sets great screens that freed up his teammates for driving lanes. He moves his feet well on the defensive side of the ball, forcing his opponents to pick up their dribble and force them into bad spots on offense.
Daniel Molhoek (Miami Heat #7)
Daniel is an impressive force with long arms and a great frame. His long arms allow him to reject shots and he has good footwork to move up and down the court. He is great as a second defender and always seems to take good angles to not allow dump-off passes to opposing bigs and throw shots into the bleachers. I was really impressed with his ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor.
Damarius Russel 2025 5’7 Waseca Junior and Senior High School
Damarius is an intelligent guard who always has his head up to move the ball up the court. He makes good passes that lead to quick shots for his teammates. He is great at initiating offense for his team and is good at kicking out to open shooters when he draws the attention of a second defender. His real ability lies in his ability to pick apart defenses with accurate full-court passes. I would like to see more work on getting to his own shot and becoming a more efficient three-level scorer.
Jack Nelson 2024 6’0 West Lutheran High School
Jack is a long guard who thrives at making his opponent uncomfortable with harassing defense. His ability to harass the opposition in the full court forced his opponents to turn the ball over and make poor decisions with the basketball. On the offensive side of the floor, he moves well without the ball and opens up driving lanes with his floor spacing ability. I would like to see him work on creating for his teammates and improving more as a ball-handler.
Owen Strege 2024 6’3 Shakopee High School
Owen is a tall forward who protects the rim well and knows how to catch defenders sleeping with simple back cuts and slipping pick and rolls. His intelligence on fighting for positioning allows him to get easy offense and creates multiple second-chance opportunities for his teammates. He has all the tools to be a dominant force on both sides of the floor, especially if he continues to grow and develop. I would like to see him work on his confidence with a live dribble and work on his outside in game while he continues to grow.
