I liked the pace Narcisse played with, the Sophomore had a joyful nature about him with a smooth stroke to go along with it. He holds his form and follows through well on his three-ball. I liked how aggressive he was offensively, he is solid when spotting up from three. He also showed the ability to finish at the rim with contact, and shoot stop and pop jumpers. I think as he grows and puts some weight on, he can definitely make his way onto a college court.
AJ Pierre-Jerome 6’9 2023 Montverde
Jerome’s most appealing attribute is his wingspan, he has an athletic build and he commands attention offensively. He has good touch around the rim and showed some crafty finishes to avoid shot blockers. He moves well for 6’9, and it’s scary to think he isn’t done growing. He played well against older players which I’d like to think is a nod to New York City grassroots basketball. Coming from the mecca, there is a “no fear” mentality that players must have to succeed. Pierre-Jerome is capable from mid-range, and defensively he can protect the rim and alter shots. The NY/NJ native has a lot of potential, and I think Montverde is the perfect place to transform his game.
Chandler Watts Chandler Watts 6'4" | CG Combine Academy | 2024 State NC 6’4 2024 Montverde
Watts has athletic capabilities that really jump off the page at you. If he gets a clear lane, he’s liable to put someone on a poster. The Montverde freshman has a good nose for the ball, and he scores it well, but will also find his teammates for assists. Watts has a good strong frame, and he finishes very well in traffic, very crafty in the lane. He has a handle and court vision that make him a D1 Point Guard in my eyes, when he combines those abilities with playing downhill, Watts is hard to stop.
Kyle Behrle 2023 6’5 West Orange
At 6’5 as a Sophomore, Behrle’s ceiling is very high. He can shoot pull-ups off the bounce and has the handle to create for himself when attacking the rim. He can finish through contact, and he will hit spot-ups as well. Behrle is one of those players who just competes regardless of the score, he is good at using his length to shoot over smaller defenders, and he will even use his body to clear some space if he needs to be physical. I always like when players ooze with confidence, and they back it up with their play, which is the case with the West Orange high product, very high ceiling.
Isaiah Sutherland 2023 6’4 Orlando Christian Prep
Sutherland is good around the rim and can spot up from deep. I always like when taller players don’t only depend on their height, and Sutherland is going to be a dependable marksman at the college level one day. Sometimes, a player’s ability to just catch a good pass and finish is under appreciated, Sutherland does a good job of going right up after a dime is dropped. He will shoot the floater as well and can finish through contact. Orlando Christian will be his new home, I think its the right move for the rising Sophomore.
