B.J. Ward B.J. Ward 6'0" | PG Chaminade | 2023 State MO 6’0 Chaminade: A solidly built who just came off a nice showing at the Pangos All-Midwest Camp last weekend. He has the ability to run a team with his high basketball IQ and ability to distribute the ball to teammates in their comfort zone. His offensive skills are also very good as he can use his physical strength to muscle in the lane and create separation from defenders while also being able to hit 3-pointers off the catch.
Israel Randle 5’10 Lincoln Academy: A quick pass-first floor general who is one of the best passing threats in the class. His court vision is outstanding and he can see things develop on the court before they actually happen. He uses his speed and slick handles to beat opponents off the dribble and change directions with ease for buckets in the lane. The lefty can also knock down 3-pointers to keep defenders honest.
Jorden Williams Jorden Williams 6'0" | PG Whitfield | 2023 State MO 5’11 Whitfield: A jet-quck southpaw who was an impact player from the first game of his career when he scored 24 points against Class 3 state power Trinity Catholic. He can easily break down defenders with his speed, yet stop on the dime and hit a mid-range jumper off the bounce. His ability to catch and shoot the 3-pointer makes him very difficult to defend.
Kyan Evans Kyan Evans 6'2" | PG Staley | 2023 State MO 6’1 Staley: Young combo guard who played a big role as a freshman in his team’s run to the Class 5 Final Four last season. He displays great poise and calm for a young player at that position. He is a downtown shooter from 3-point range who can get it off the catch and the bounce. He is a slick ball handler who can drop nice dimes with his court vision.
Desmond White 6’0 Helias: One of the top bucket-getting guards in the sophomore class, White lit it up throughout July while playing with Carroll GoL1ve. He was well over 20 points a game against some good competition. He is a nice shot creator off the dribble with good slashing ability and 3-point range. He should break out big this season.
Kobi Williams Kobi Williams 6'4" | SG Westminster | 2023 State MO 6’1 Westminster: A bouncy combo guard who plays with a nice balance of athleticism and poise. He excels on the defensive end with his length, excellent instincts and anticipation to attack the passing lanes. He has a smooth stroke from 3-point range and he will beat a defender off the dribble to get into the middle area for a jumper with nice elevation.
Barry Thomas Barry Thomas 6'1" | PG St. Charles West | 2023 State MO 6’0 St Charles: An excellent two-way combo guard who can impact the game with aggressive, slashing drives to the basket that result in buckets and three-point plays through contact. He works his way through traffic very well and he can balance it out with a solid 3-point stroke. He is an aggressive ball-hawk on the defensive end.
Jack Steinbach Jack Steinbach 5'11" | PG Ladue | 2023 State MO 5’11″ Ladue: A tough young guard who stepped in as a freshman and helped the Rams to a Class 4 district championship last season. I like how he handles the pressure with poise as he doesn’t seem to get rattled. He can also play off the ball with his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. He also displayed the penchant for hitting big shots in crucial situations. He did a nice job for the Gateway 15U’s this summer.
Ahlante Askew Ahlante Askew 6'1" | PG Republic | 2023 State MO 6’0″ Republic: The talented youngster was one of the best defensive guards that I watched during the summer. His anticipation and instincts were excellent as he can play the passing lanes and hawk the ball with equal effectiveness. He is very good when he is playing with pace. His passing skills are also very good and he will hit open perimeter shots to open up the floor.
