Prep Hoops took in all of the action. Here we dive into the camp with Pangos Camp: Top National 2024 Prospects!
Chiang Ring (South, MN)
Ring was a complete beast in the Top 30 game. The incoming freshman is an imposing presence at 6’8” and built like a brick wall. Major shot blocking presence swatting everything that came his way. Physical player that also brings mobility and some skill with his passing and post moves. Crashes the glass for second chance opportunities. Huge future for this Minnesota prospect!
Alexander Mattes (East Ridge, MN)
Mattes is a 6’3” extremely skilled two guard that impressed throughout Pangos Camp. Plus shooter that can also put it on the deck. Good things seemed to always happen when the ball touched his hands. Had a sweet jump stop in traffic for a bucket.
Camren Smith (South, MN)
Smith is a wing that proved to be a flat out bucket getter. Scored from multiple levels, but when it came down to it he was most effective on slippery drives getting in the paint converting and-1s and runners.
Airious Bailey (Boyd Buchanan, TN)
Bailey has a ton of upside. At 6’6” he has long arms and a thin build. Combo forward that glides on the floor. The production was hit and miss, but you can’t deny the upside. Runs the floor with ease and should be able to guard multiple positions. Once the skill comes along he could be a big time player.
Caelum Harris (Stewart Creek, TN)
Harris stands at 6’6” and is a bouncy four man that can take his man off the dribble from the high-post. Runs the floor well and finished above the rim with force.
Dink Pate (LG Pinkston, TX)
Pate has a projectable body at 6’5” with long arms and an angular frame. When we saw him he was most effective shooting it from the perimeter with a ton of arc on his three point shot. One to track down the line.
Treyton McCain (Decorah, IA)
This 5’10” guard has a rangy build which allows him to play taller. He shot it well from three in the games we saw. Clean shooting stroke.
Carson Johnson (Ankeny, IA)
Johnson is a super small point guard at only 5’7”, but man can this young guard knock down shots. He was instant offense hitting three after three.
Daniel Smythe (Orchard Lake St. Mary Prep, MI)
Smythe is a 6’0” shooting guard that can score from multiple levels. Early on in the camp it was his three pointer that looked most impressive. As he got more comfortable he got in the paint for scoop shots and runners.
Brayden White (Woodhaven, MI)
White is a guard that at 6’0” had a long and lanky build. Drilled a jump shot off a ball screen along with a runner in the lane when we saw him.
Elyjah Hendricks (Grand Ledge, MI)
Hendricks is a point guard that is shifty in the lane keeping the ball on a string. He won off the bounce several times for scoop shots and crossed his man up one time for a layup. Also showed he was capable of dropping it off to a teammate for a dime in the paint.
Cade Courbat (Cedar Falls, IA)
Courbat is a really intriguing four man from Iowa. The 6’6” power forward is a lefty that can stretch the floor with his shooting to out beyond the three point arc. Runs the floor with fluidity right to the rim. Quick post moves which he was fouled on a few times. Has the size, mobility, and skill to develop into an excellent prospect.
KJ Windham Jr (Ben Davis, IN)
This Indianapolis guard is a lefty with good length. He works well in ball screen situations and drilled several deep threes.
King Keary (Goodpasture Christian, TN)
Keary is actually the lone 2025 prospect that we took notice of this weekend. Playing against players one or two years his elder he more than held his own. The combo guard is a plus shooter from beyond the arc and took it to the rack on several occasions finishing through contact.
