With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the top wings in Class B:
Lucas Schumacher Lucas Schumacher 6'2" | SG Linton | 2021 State ND , Linton/HMB
Schumacher was an all-state selection as a junior, averaging 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists. At 6-foot-2, Schumacher has the size to bully smaller perimeter defenders, but also the athleticism and explosiveness to abuse bigger guys caught on him. Linton/HMB will be a team to watch in Region 3 and he’s arguably the best individual player in the region.
Noah Fredrickson Noah Fredrickson 6'0" | SG Powers Lake | 2021 State ND , Powers Lake
Powers Lake will head into the season with state tournament aspirations and Fredrickson is the engine for the Ranchers’ success. The 6-foot senior scores it efficiently, defends with tenacity and took a huge step forward as a playmaker in his junior season. His ability to influence the game on both ends of the floor makes him a potential all-stater.
Steele Hansen Steele Hansen 5'10" | SF Oakes | 2021 State ND , Oakes
Hansen was a beast for the Tornadoes last year, averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field (36 percent from the 3-point line). He can score from all over the floor and defend bigger or smaller guys at a high level. Oakes might be considered the favorite in Region 3 heading into the season, and Hansen is one of those guys who can dominate a game against anybody.
Hunter Fletschock Hunter Fletschock 6'6" | SF Drake-Anamoose | 2021 State ND , Drake-Anamoose
Drake-Anamoose won 18 games last year and is a sleeper in Region 6 this year in large part because of one of the best duos in the state. Fletschock represents half that duo, as the 6-foot-5 senior swingman averaged 17 points and five rebounds as a junior. He’s a skilled long-range shooter who can put pressure on bigger defenders with his skill, but he’s also got the size and activity level to finish over smaller guys at the rim.
Jayden Yankton Jayden Yankton 6'1" | SG Four Winds/Minnewaukan | 2022 State ND , Four Winds/Minnewaukan
Four Winds/Minnewaukan will be the No. 1 ranked team in Class B heading into the year and Yankton projecting into a potential all-stater on the wing is a big reason for the Indians’ hype. A solid complementary player each of the last two years, Yankton gets it done on both ends of the floor, and is ascending into a heavily featured role as a junior. Expect big things.
