With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the top forwards in Class B:
Joe Hurlburt Joe Hurlburt 6'10" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State #147 Nation MN , Enderlin
Hurlburt was an all-state selection as a sophomore, averaging 21 points and 15 rebounds for a better-than-expected Enderlin team. Expectations are ramped up now, as Enderlin will be expected to contend for a region and state title. Hurlburt is the best prospect in the state and should be the best player on the floor in every game the Eagles play – seeing what level he can get to this winter will be intriguing.
Alex Huber Alex Huber 6'6" | SF Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier | 2021 State ND , Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier
Huber led EKM to a Region 3 championship as a junior, averaging 20 points and seven rebounds before an excellent showing on the grassroots circuit with ND Attack. He’ll be part of one of the best frontcourts in the state and his ability to score in the post, provide shooting and create his own shot make him one of the toughest players to defend.
Scott Wagner Scott Wagner 6'8" | C Ellendale | 2022 State ND , Ellendale
Wagner was excellent as a sophomore, averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds for a solid Ellendale team. He’ll be the unquestioned go-to guy this winter and while teams will likely throw junk defenses or multiple defenders at him, his activity level and skill allow him to produce independent of an opposing gameplan.
Gavin Keller Gavin Keller 6'9" | PF Kindred | 2021 State ND , Kindred
Keller is one of the top prospects in the 2020 class and he’ll be the focal point of a Kindred team that should be competitive in Region 1. At 6-foot-9, Keller is a terrific defensive presence, as his length creates a lot of problems for the opposition around the rim. His mobility and athleticism allow him to cover a lot of ground defensively and he can score inside and out.
Isaiah Bundy-Smith Isaiah Bundy-Smith 6'4" | PF Rugby | 2021 State ND , Rugby
Bundy-Smith hasn’t had a chance to put up the kind of numbers he’s truly capable of over the past two years on a loaded Rugby team. This winter will be different as he’ll get all he can handle from a workload standpoint. At 6-foot-6, Bundy-Smith is an athletic and active big who defends, rebounds and can fill up the stat sheet in a big way.
