Lincoln Palbicki Lincoln Palbicki 6'10" | C Maple Grove | 2023 State MN (6’9 2023 C, Maple Grove)- Lincoln Palbicki Lincoln Palbicki 6'10" | C Maple Grove | 2023 State MN ran with Comets Elite 2023’s on Saturday, and impressed in his role as a traditional post player. He showcased soft touch around the rim and also had an impressive step-back jumper from around the free throw line. Defensively he was shutting opposing posts down, using his strength and size to limit their ability to gain position in the paint, and also swatting a few shots away with authority. And although it didn’t count, Lincoln showed off some improved athleticism with a put-back dunk after his teammate was fouled going up for a lay-up.
Camden Holter Camden Holter 6'3" | SG Minneapolis Southwest | 2022 State MN (6’3 2022 SG, Holy Angels)- Really excited for what Camden Holter Camden Holter 6'3" | SG Minneapolis Southwest | 2022 State MN can do at Holy Angels these next two years. He just continues to impress with his solid all-around game. He has size, athleticism, solid basketball IQ, and versatile scoring ability that allow him to do a little of everything on offense. He took over in the second half of the game I caught, knocking down multiple three pointers, and getting to the rim for some impressive finishes. Camden seems to glide when he takes off around the rim, and was able to extend and hang in the air to finish over length.
Prince Aligbe Prince Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 State #167 Nation MN (6’6 2022 SF, Minnehaha Academy)- As we’ve come to expect, Prince Aligbe Prince Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 State #167 Nation MN was putting on a show with his high flying ability around the rim, throwing down some impressive dunks both in transition and off penetration from the wing. What really stood out though was his vocal presence on the defensive end. Prince was easily the loudest player in the gym, calling out screens and commands at all times, while also actively shutting down his man. He’s really starting to excel as a leader on the floor, and also showcased his post footwork that allowed him to create some high percentage looks around the basket.
Avery Mast Avery Mast 6'5" | PF Lakeville South | 2022 State MN (6’5 2022 W, Lakeville South)- After seeing him perform against a plethora of D1 prospects on Totino-Grace, Avery Mast Avery Mast 6'5" | PF Lakeville South | 2022 State MN seems to be a player who will attract plenty of scholarship level attention over the next two seasons. At 6’5 he has solid size on the wing, and was shooting the ball at a high level while being defended by length in a win for Minnesota Fury-Wilde. He was able to stretch the floor with his shooting but was also productive creating and finishing chances around the rim. One of the more impressive scoring performances I saw on the day.
Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN (6’6 2023 W, Lakeville North)-Playing with Crossfire-Stone, Nolan managed to stand out among a lineup loaded with talent. Already standing 6’6 he has the length to be a D1 wing, and he showcased his shooting touch that lit up opposing defenses all summer. Nolan went for 20 points in a win over Totino-Grace, excelling at relocating to get himself free beyond the arc, and knocking down those looks at a high percentage. The sophomore also showed that he’s not afraid to hit the big shot, knocking down the game winning three with just seconds remaining on the clock.
Jackson Loge Jackson Loge 6'7" | C Morris Area | 2022 State MN (6’7 2022 PF/C, Morris Area)- One of the top post scorers in the state, Jackson dominated from the block in a win over Totino-Grace. His strong frame and ability to put himself into position to score with simple pivots makes him incredibly difficult to stop without bringing over a double team. Jackson also ran the floor hard leading to a couple of transition buckets, and he added in a dunk as well. Defensively he can hold his ground against longer centers, and he did a good job of initiating contact on the box out and attacking rebounds out of the air.
Taison Chatman Taison Chatman 6'4" | PG Totino Grace | 2023 State #35 Nation MN (6’4 2023 CG, Totino-Grace)- Though Totino-Grace struggled as a team going 0-2 on the day, Taison was one of the bright spots for the young and talented team. I’ve been told that he’s grown to 6’4, and he continued to play with great change of pace that allowed him to shake smaller defenders or blow by size. He looked extremely comfortable pulling up from three with his soft shooting touch, and showcased his deadly crossover into a pull-up from mid-range that has become nearly impossible to guard at the high school level. Taison has become recognized as one of the top guard prospects nationally in the 2023 class.
