The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo was held at MSA Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids yesterday. This was an outstanding event and the talent in the building was off of the charts. I will be evaluating every player that was from the Metro Detroit area through myself watching games and also looking at games a second time on BallerTV. Everyone showed up big time and the sky is the limit for you.
Benjamin McCaskill (2022, 6-2, Cranbrook Kingswood)
McCaskill had an excellent expo. He has excellent skills. He was very comfortable gong to the basket and finishing. He has excellent speed and runs the court very well. He is primed for an outstanding year.
Jacob Burke (2023, 6-3, Lutheran North Macomb)
Burke is a slasher who is moving all the time. He runs the court very well. He plays aggressive defense, recovers well, and got a few steals playing the passing lanes. Excellent basketball IQ.
Jaylen Flaniken Jaylen Flaniken 6'3" | SF Detroit Edison | 2021 State MI (2021, 6-3, Detroit Edison)
Flaniken is an amazing talent. He showed his intensity for the game by picking up full court on defense. He is a good defensive player. Offensive he pushed the ball and made good decisions. Flaniken is a college prospect.
Matthew Henein (2021, 6-4, International Academy of Macomb)
This was a perfect expo for Henein to showcase his ability to play basketball. He is very adept at the pick and roll and pick and pop. Every pass he made he would cut to the basket. He has no problem driving to the basket. He battled for rebounds and defensively he kept his man in front of him. Solid showing.
Charles Riley (2021, 6-4, L’anse Creuse North)
Riley is an athlete. I love the way he gets out on the break. This lead to a high flying dunk. He has excellent ball handling skills. He is a player that can score in bunches. This is a player college coaches must look at. His ceiling is high.
Juan Claudio lll (2022, 5-9, Waterford Mott)
Claudio lll is very good at handling the ball. He was good at breaking the defense down on his dribble drive and dish. He never gets rattled on the floor. Defensively you have to protect the ball or he will swipe it and be gone down the floor. He is very strong. Waterford Mott has a good one here.
