COMMITMENTS
2021 National Christian/Team Takeover wing Jakai Robinson Jakai Robinson 6'4" | SF Rock Creek Christian | 2021 State #53 Nation MD announced his commitment to Miami. The last of our top-5 prospects in 2021 to commit, Robinson kept his recruitment pretty close to the vest throughout, but the Canes ultimately won his trust and in return get a 6-foot-5 lefty who plays extremely hard on both ends. Robinson is one of the best competitors you’ll find and has improved noticeably on his offensive skill-set. His size and athleticism make for a versatile defensive option and he should have no problem fitting in with head coach Jim Laranaga’s system. Miami continues to flex their muscles in the DMV as Robinson is just one of many prospects in the area that will suit up for the Canes in the ACC next season.
2021 Good Counsel/ DC Premier point guard Antoine Jacks Antoine Jacks 5'10" | PG Good Counsel | 2021 State MD announced his pledge to Fairleigh Dickinson. The 5-foot-11 floor general received an offer from Fairleigh Dickinson and Army West Point within the same week, but decided to end his recruitment fairly quickly after the Knights extended their offer. Jacks brings the ultimate toughness and willingness to defend the length of the court. He’s an underrated playmaker and has the ability to make shots from beyond the arc. I see Jacks having a solid, productive college career in the NEC.
OFFERS
2021 Good Counsel/ DC Premier guard Bez Mbeng Bez Mbeng 6'3" | CG Good Counsel | 2021 State #190 Nation MD received an offer from Canisius. Mbeng, the no. 6 overall player in our 2021 rankings, remains the only undecided senior in our top-10. There’s no real timetable for when a decision will be made, but as the restrictions for visits loom later in the calendar, my opinion is that he’ll have to make a decision sooner rather than later. The 6-foot-3 combo guard also holds offers from Bryant, James Madison, La Salle, Robert Morris, St. Francis (PA) and Towson. Stanford has also been a program that regularly checks in with Mbeng, but has yet to offer.
2021 Parkville/DMV Stags guard Darrius Tilghman Darrius Tilghman 6'3" | PG Parkville | 2021 State MD was offered by Chestnut Hill. Tilghman’s name has ramped up in the Division II circles, but it won’t be for long as the 6-foot-4 lefty announced that he will make his commitment tomorrow. Any program at that level is hitting the jackpot. Tilghman has great size for a combo guard and now that he has improved his body, his best basketball is in front of him.
2022 Poly/Team Thrill point guard Bryce Lindsay Bryce Lindsay 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2022 State MD kept things rolling as he was offered by Georgetown and La Salle. The Hoyas should make Lindsay a priority going forward as I see him becoming a hot commodity among Big East Conference programs. La Salle is looking to get more involved with Baltimore area prospects starting with the 2022 class and will monitor Lindsay very closely going forward.
2023 St. Frances/Team Durant guard Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD received an offer from Virginia Tech. The Hokies became the second ACC program to offer the 6-foot-3 guard along with Pittsburgh. Lamothe has established himself as a top-50 talent in his class nationally, so don’t expect the power five offers to stop any time soon.
2024 St. Frances/Team Thrill forward Derik Queen added an offer from Georgetown. Queen is making an early statement at various events and leagues that he should be considered a top player in his class nationally. His versatility and guard skills on the perimeter as well as his feel for operating in the post is beyond his years. Queen also holds offers from the likes of Maryland and Virginia Tech.
2024 St. Frances/Team Thrill guard Daquan Davis has received an offer from South Alabama. It’s crazy to think that this is his second offer before he steps on a high school floor as a freshman. Howard also extended an offer to Davis last month. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen from him in a fall league as the 5-foot-10 guard is a ruthless defender who competes in every aspect. He translates that toughness to the offensive end where he can finish by the basket through contact and is a capable shooter when left open on the perimeter
